I already asked this in another forum, but hoping for a quick response I went here too.. Just wondering if people can run in resolutions greater then 1152 X 864.... The game won't let me go any higher then this..
i can thats probobly all your monitor can handel
No I know my monitor can do 1280 X 1024, but it doesn't show it on the list...
yeah I saw your previous post....a friend of mine has the same setup as you Radeon 9000 Pro 128 Mb. He's got a pentium IV 2.8 + 512 DDR running Xp home.
He plays at 1600X1200 full detail and gets about 60 fps online...
So do this:
check your vid card driver, it's possible you use the standard windows display driver in which case: update
Check if you can set the resolutions higher on your desktop, just to be sure. If you can't put em higher tha 1152 on your desktop, it's a problem with the vid card driver or with the monitor. I suspect the monitor.
Unfortunately for me I'm using the latest ATI drivers, and the proper Daytek drivers for my monitor (a 755DF), and it still doesn't work... I have my desktop @ 1280X1024, and every other game I own works great at that resolution, including UT2003 (which btw I can run with max detail and resolution flawlessly). The only thing I can really think of is if DirectX 9 is having some sort of conflict. I sense a format C: *fix* coming up. :(
I run it at 800x600 although I could run it higher. I just got sick of having to wait so damn long for the menu to come up whenever I pushed escape so I just changed it to 800x600 so it comes up almost instantly. I gained a crap load of performance too.
I've got no lag whatsoever in the game, just horrible brush texturing at times, and I' unable to go to 1280X1024... And 800X600 reminds me of 8bit Nintendo graphics nowadays.
I just changed mine back to 1024x768 with 32bpp... However... I took off environment mapping and left shadows and Lightmaps on. Major performance gain without any noticable decrease in the pretty textrues. I'd go higher but my monitor is only a 15" LCD.
I think I might have something...maybe your monitor can handle the resolutions as on your desktop, but it has a problem with displaying higher reslotions with a high refresh rate.
I had a similar problem with my vid card, althuogh it was an nvidia but what the hell it's worth a try...go in your BF directory on your hard disk and search for a file called viddefault.cfg (it should be something like that)
Open the file with notepad or something and change the command "allow all refresh rates = 0" to "allow all refresh rates = 1"
Save it and check if other resolutions are available in the bf menu..
Let us now if it helped...
No I tried that too, it just gives me more refresh rate options for the resolutions that it is already showing, but not giving me more resolutions...My computer started crashin last night too which sux, think my HD might be going already, freakin brand new. Oh well...
