Can you help me please? I have patched my Battlefield from 1.4 to 1.45. It didn't work first time, so I did a full uninstall of battlefield. I did battlefield, then Roads to Rome, and then the full 1.45 patch.

Now, if I want to play a Road To Rome game, I have to insert the RTR disk, any non-RTR game, I have to put the original Battlefield disk back in. I am sure I didn't have to do this with pre 1.45 patched version of Battlefield.

Has anyone else had this?

Does anyone know of a "work around" (excluding getting a dodgy no CD disk crack!).

Cheers all!

BTY I am expecting Zero[UK] to respond first as you seem to be a VERY active contributor.

Yea it blows man, but that's the way you gotta do it now. Feel lucky though man, it seems even doing it this way doesn't work for some people. :(

I totally agree with ya man. It hasn't always been this way. I used to just use the RtR cd for everything. It was sooooooo much easier then. LOL I also feel that, being I've "paid" for the game, I should be allowed to make a copy to use for playing the game. As to eliminate the chance of screwing up the original cd, hence having to buy another copy.

Dude, I totally agree! But fear we are going off on a tangent. I suppose if I actaully got round to purchasing and installing that DVD ROM Drive I have been meaning to do for the last year(!), then I could have both disks in and not have to swap.

The thing that really grates with this RTR Disk issue, is that if I am on a server that goes from a standard BF1942 map (i.e. Berlin) to a RTR one, then I have to faff around getting the right disk out of the case, taking care not to scratch it, then swap them, push the insert disk button on the drive, being careful not to hit the restart button, and then put the original BF1942 disk carefully back in the crappy paper sleave so it doesn't get scratched (all because EA were too tight to give us 2 disk boxes!) and then hit the okay button. By which time, people on patch 1.4 have already secured all of the CP on the map, and are spawn camping, and I can't get in the game!! Argghhh.

I say :moon: to EA and their decision to change this!

I don't get it. If I have the road to rome or WW2 CD in my cd-drive, that means I have the official cd of BF right? So why ask me to insert it? It sucks

Did the same - but I can't play at all now. The lag starts as soon as I log on. not one game will play without the lag. doesn't matter what settings or changes I make in system - still lag I'll go back to Wolfenstein until EA fixes this crap
