Does any one know how it is possible to shoot across the BATTLE AXE map with a BAR

I was shot last night by a guy shooting from the 1st respawn below his main base and i was running down the hill of my main respawn. Also he did it in 3 shots, well that was all that hit me then i was laying on my back and when the death cam showed where he was i near fell of my chair. He and a few others where pulling off a few 2 to 3 shot kills. How many shots does it take to knock a guy down? i use the medic and it takes a few with their guns. I do have the realism mod and it makes the game hard as hell but also takes a little more skill to move. But i have yet to see a server running this mod.

I found this on a ww2 site M1918 BAR (Browning Automatic Rifle) - The BAR was not used in large numbers and only saw service in the last few weeks of the war. Limited use was allowed at that time.

Does any one know why their is not a class with the (K-43 or G-43 ,M1 carbine,M1 Grand, Sturmgewehr 44 7.92X34 Kurtz, FallschirmJagergewehr 42 7.92,SVT-40 Tokarev 7.62X54R)? These where used more then the BAR and STG a far as my knowledge.

Are they going to add something like this on but then again this might be hard for some people who play the faster games like (UT2003,Deltaforce,Quake,etc)but wouldnt it be alot better if you actually had to aim the gun like in real life rather then point a crosshair at someone while your running like a nut. The Vietcong demo has this aiming system and it takes alot more skill rather then the point and shoot type play.

Sorry about the long book but wanted to know if any one else had the same idea about the guns that should be in the game and maybe someone even make a mod like this and if maybe this guy and his clan where somehow cheating.

Happens to me to, across whole width of map dead in 2-3 bar hits.. Also seems there is a way to extend view distance again like there was in pre 1.2.. Snipers are shooting from just outside one airfield to other airfield.. I also saw some thing very strange, normally everytime i am killed i see via death cam who got me and where he is excepy with 1 player, he sniped me and when i died the cam stays on me didnt point him out?? how can this happen??

As for unused weapons of war they seem to of forgotten the Ttphoon which was used in great numbers in the dessert campaign as a tank buster...The Hurricane aint in there either.

Sturmgewehr 44 7.92X34 Kurtz = STG :)

The Fallschirmjagergewehr 42 7.92 (FG42) is isn't used because it has no real eqivalent it has 20 rounds of 8mm mauser (stuff the k98 fires) and was used only by the german paratroopers (fallschirmjager)

the russian Gun(s) i can guess weren't implimented due to laziness

The M1 garand, K43/G43 (its the same gun), russian semi-auto rifle weren't implymented because i believe there was no japanese semi-auto rifle (and if there was take it down as continued laziness).

if im wrong someone correct me ;)

i actually have a fully functional K-43 my father gave me,it is a gun that i would never want to carry. But yes i did know about the STG and its real full name and the G and K -43 being the same gun what i was trying to say was these where used more then the BAR and yet only one made it into the game.

As for Russia using the American weapons and other various weapons that are missing i would have to agree about the laziness in research. But this is one of the best damn games i had ever played and cant stay away from it long.

It would be great if that made a patch that added a few more classes with different guns.

What I posted in another thread:

DICE hasn't gone for a perfectly accurate game, its just a quick, fun WWII themed game.

like only 6000 STG's were made (the main german assault gun in the game) but STG's are more fun then running round with a slow bolt action Kar 98.

Battlefield was always supposed to be like that, I remember in a early DICE interview they said making the game fun is the priority, historically accurate stuff comes second.

But if you really want all the historically accurate stuff of World War 2, a mod called Forgotten Hope is being made that will have all the correct weapons/speeds/ armour values etc.

That infomation about the BAR is wrong, the BAR was designed in 1918 (might have guess from the M1918 designation), you might have been reading about WW1, alot of the weapons in WW2 (Like the BAR and Tommy Gun) were made so you could rapidly attack a trench and kill everyone in it fast. But they were made to late, and only were used in the last few weeks. The BAR was used right from the start of WW2.

In the game, the BAR and STG are used as the main guns because they're much more fun to shoot then a slow old boring bolt action gun.

About being shot across long distances, its easy, don't fire on full auto, fire in single shots rapidly and you can use the BAR like a sniper.

I would think it would be possible to model correct guns for the Russians, Japs, and British but keep the same attributes.

Then the english would have to have Bren guns, sten guns and 303 rifles, trouble is you get shot by a 303 u die as it would take ya back off as it enters your chest and leaves through your back..The engineer needs it as his gun is like a pea shooter...

The BAR was designed as a light MG for WW1, and carried into WW2 as a support weapon (not meant for assault) but enough games treat the weapon as an assault.

Your numbers on the STG is wrong, the number of STG44s produced were just a shade under 500,000 (but STG43s were lower). You might be getting 6,000 from the FG42 (Fallshirmjägergewehr) which is about right (around 4,500-6,000 produced).

I personally like the Engineer's Lee Enfield No. 4 rifle, it's a British weapon and can make good shots from any distance. Somehow in the game, the SMGs are far more supirior and I see so many players take up the assault and medic classes nowadays.

ability to hide mines to as not many mines sit there allowing others to see em so easy...

i would love to see hinden mine put into the game and also the fix so they dont disappear. I do like the tommy gun the US medic carries just to weak compared to a (BAR OR STG). Also a better knifing ability more of a stab. I was basically saying it would be fun to have a semi auto class as the assualt and maybe a limited amount of BAR's or STG's on the field would make the game a little more harder then the running jumping and shooting people do to be in first place. Just an idea that would make the game a little harder.
