Hey guys kinda new here.. I was wondering if anyone can point me in the right direction for some nice write-ups on scouts and details about their role? I read the one on this site already.. Mainly I would like to know how to download or disign custom crosshair reticles for the game.. This isn't an engine I am familar with so I need some help as to where to find the sniper scope image so I can change it. Also any tips on how to get a good moving shot would be great.. I practice but I do not get better.. Also I learned the trick with holding down fire to see where your shot landed and stay zoomed in.. How do you get it to stay zoomed in before you fire your next shot? That's all =) Hope to se eyou guys lurking in the shadows.. Point me to any files/urls that would help the scout out.. I really want to do my own sniper recticle though.

thanks, Zogal

Dunno,

I just always made my own in every game.. I like to have my own style much like the one I learned on with my Remmington 700 Police.. I like the ranging lines and drop lines.. So I am searching to see if I can figure out how to change the overlay for the scope.. Not that I do not do ok with the one I have but it would be nice for me to be able to make my own.

1- The scout class can call for artilery with the google. And kill the hidden players (hidden in a basement,bushes....)He can also spot enemy infantry and vehicles at long distances!!! But the sniper is not the best class to help a team!!!(exept in one map: omaha beach)

2-To desing custom scopes in don't know how and i NEVER SEEN A CUSTOM SCOPE ON THE ENTIRE BF CUMMUNITY WEB SITES!!! (you can go on www.gamefaqs.com or on others BF sites www.bfcentral.com,www.planetbattlefield.com,www.bfstats.com,www.desertcombat.com etc.........and ask for questions about it!

3-To holding down the zoom vision you can do that by pressing the zoom button continually, BUT YOU WILL BE UNABLE TO RELOAD AND SHOOT WITH THE ZOOM ENABLED!!!

4- To practice your shooting abilities you can try to play with the bots in single player or go on a server with 2-3 people and ask for them i you can practice your sniping abilities on them!!!

Hope it helped you!!!

I personally don't like the scout class since I can snipe with the engineer's rifle. There were suggestions of colored scopes in Desert Combat and would be cool to see a red scope image. :)

Yes, the sniper isnt always necesary for the team. In my oppinion, the primary effect of a sniper is to make the enemy paranoid (I trie never to stand still myself ;)). Snipers are also useful for taking out AA and MG positions, and yes; other snipers of course. The ability to call for artillary is also quite useful. But as mentionned above, the engineer can manage many of these tasks quite well, and carry tools and explosives with him as well. So a good team should avoid having too many snipers, and fokus mainly on Medics, Assaulters and Engineers.

I prefer to go very very slowly (maybe half game) and sneak all the way behind the main enemy stronghold and set up shop... That DC mod I really don't like since I am more of a WW2 fan... Anyway think of this guys... You know in half-life counterstrike there was a tif that was the scope image which you could edit to your liking.. See there has to be a scope image somewhere you can alter so that when you zoom in the scope is how you drew it overlayed the backround.. I know the scope is some type of image file, I just need to know where it is =) Feel free to discuss advanced sniper tactics and look for me on the Nvdia server as Morvix.. I had Morvix registered when I was reviewing this game for XLGaming.com, which I ran.. But I cannot get my password due to the fact that morvix@xlgaming.com was my addy when signed up but that server is dead now =P
