I've heard that AMD Athlons are better for gaming than P4s because of the architecture. I know that ASUS sells some pretty awesome mobos for AMDs.
Yoshi, i have to agree with you, it is porven that AMd is better at gfx than it pentim rival, but only a bit, my local mag did it with a 2 comps, a p4 2 and a AMD 2200+ (the 2200 only runns at 2000) with gf4 ti 4200 and 512 pc133 ram, and pentium come out with 327 and amd with 352, which seems like a lot, but to a average gamer, isnt much
I would change the cooling system Bu-Fu, water cooling is old technology, refrigerated cooling is in now, this is what you want Prometeia .
The advantage the Athlon's have is in the floating point unit, also if you're going AMD you should get dual channel Motherboard with DDR400, maybe the Asus A7N8X with Nforce2 chipset. Apart from that your choices seem sound.

Nitrogen, huh. Is that safe for kids 4 and up?

Speaking of motherboards...I think I need a new one...the one I have now is an MSI thats about a year and a half old and supports 4x AGP. My cpu is an AMD Athlon 1.4 ghz. Any suggestions?
There is a major discussion going on in this thread at the moment all about mobo's, CPU's, memory, PSU's etc, rather than trying to repeat it all here it might give you a few ideas reading the thread.
