Merciless Creations Texturesets Addon will allow you to have different custom skins for each map. Personally I use the whole MC lineup because they are so kickass! But if you don't want to do that then you have to extract the texture.rfa file which can be found in the C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\Battlefield 1942\Mods\bf1942\Archives folder. You will need to have .NET framework installed to do this. And a .rfa extracter. You will need to extract texture.rfa to the C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\Battlefield 1942 folder. It will then create a texture folder in that location. After you do that remember to backup and delete texture.rfa from archives or skins will all be white. MC Addon for different skins on each map and the other way for the same skins on every map. Confused yet? I am...

Just use MC's texture sets and Add-ons. It takes all the hard stuff out and makes it easy for you.
