I've got a Sindwinder headset, and have been using Game Voice... but everyone says Teamspeak is better... so I got it today and have been messing with it, but what's the big deal?

Why is it so much better?

i have no idea, lots of clans use it because it's clear and doesn't lag. i don't like it because of the gay robot voice the program transmitts as peoples voices. i perfer Roger Wilco, it's pretty clear, it sometimes has static. Roger wilco is good for a freeware, though. so is teamspeak, only if you like robot voices :naughty:

Gay robot voice? like C-3P0?

I don't hear any other voice... it works fine for me... just wondering why it's so much better than Game Voice... I did ready that Microsoft is getting out of the game hardware market, so there won't be any future updates to Sidewinder...

not 3-cpo, like a robotish voice. teamspeak transmitts it as robot-kinda voice, so it doesn't lag, i don't like it that much, but i use it because lots of my friends do :(

it's all a matter of what you and the ones you talk to like to use. i've gone from rw, battelcom, gamevoice, ts1, ts2, and ventrilo and liked them all. currently i enjoy usin vent. it seems to have the clearest sound and least problems for us. however, i've heard it's not so good for 56k'ers.

Uhh...Robot voice? The only voice I hear that's not from the people talking in it is the voice that announces when someone has left or joined the room.

I've tried Wilco in the past and have found it to be cumbersome. For me, sometimes it works, and sometimes it doesn't. I've been using TS for about a week now, and it hasn't failed me one bit.
