I use Win2000 Pro and I have no problems, it works fine. What do you mean "adjust", do you mean graphics? Ram? the OS? What are your hardware specs.

I use XP, and it rocks. It is far more stable than any other OS I have used

The opinion that win2000 pro and games don't go along is totally wrong. People who are telling aother that are just parrots repeating others :)

I run win2000 pro SP2 (servicepack 2) and i must say.. i haven't had a game quitting on me yet... not even crashes, nothing... from HL to BF and all inbetween... it runs like a smooth baby, and i've heared more problems on winXP on LAN parties... but thats just hearsay...

All depends on how clean you keep your system, how well your PC is equipped (correct drivers - note: the latest drivers also will contain the latest new bugs) and if your components are up to the task... many problems are not due to the OS you use, but the drivers, and hardware combinations (or lack of good cooling for instance).

My config that runs a smooth win2000pro: asus A7V, AMD 2K+, 1 Gb pc 2700 memory, winfast ti 4600 (2 fans and a huge cooling block) and a dragon casing including another 3 fans...

Same here, Win2k has been the most stable and less futile to handle drivers then some other OSes out there (cough... XP... cough...) But its all a matter of opinion... Another issue that you would have to address is Hardware... remember, not all hardware plays well together.
