arent you 12? lol, how are you going to buy "wireless internet".

Anyways, do you mean a satalite connection or a wireless lan(which wont help you in the outside world). As for satalite, its not good at all for gaming. It has a delayed signal, so its a constant lag. For just surfing the net, its fine.

I'm guessing you must mean either 802.11b (I might be wrong on that since I'm half-asleep) which is wireless internet and quite nice most of the time, or you mean a wireless lan like C0cker said which is also pretty cool. YOu'd still need to connect the broadband modem to the hub though, but it should run great from there.

Satellite should be avoided at all costs unless it's your last option. It's really only for people who need an internet connection in remote areas or are on the move a lot (business related generally). You'd be paying an exorbitant amount for a decent speed and it'd still suck for gaming. Dialup in most cases is actually better than satellite.

hi wannabeatle,

I have trialed wireless LAN, the most important thing to remember is, not all manufacturer's hardware works together, it's supposed to be a standard but it aint. Get all your hardware from the same manufacturer. Also keep in mind the range indoor's is only good enough for a medium sized house. Put your base station centrally and plug into the router/server/adsl modem-router direct.

Keep in mind you will get 10Mbit which is good enough for LAN games and internet, but a bit slow for shifting big files around the LAN.

have fun

I have the wireless LAN 802.11a 5 gighz which has "turbo" to 70 mbs. It works very well with Gaming and file transfer. Like Apocalypse said, the indoor range is lousy. Close a couple of doors and it can drop your connection which is difficult to regain. After moving the receiver to a higher and more central location, I am happy with the system. I can take my Portable Computer anywhere on my property and be connected.
