I just hope that ppl wont start makig a million different mods of existing in-game ships like they did on bridge commander. Make new ships instead. I find it very dumb if there are 20 different versions of e.g. the galaxy, that allready is in the game. So I want to say "MAKE NEW SHIPS !!".

Maybe someone agrees with me ?

i agree, i like fresh ships rather than refits and modded hp's. i know that it is difficult 2 create new ships and most refits r by amature modders that are practising but please if ur experienced enough create new ships, not slatin just a request

well as a modder as u may have seen , most of us modders cant afford the price for the modeling program so we dont model we mod and at the moment all we have rthe current models from the ships so until someone starts making non-cannon ship models we can only edit what we have got so dont start have a go

People should make new ships, like the ACHILLES!!! The Excalibur ir really good too.

Funny u should say that I have almost finished an excalibur, just need to do a bit more work on the textures - I also have a lot of ships that others have done for previous version of the game and I've converted to SFC3 like the Jemhadar fighter, miranda class, nova class, constellation, prometheus class, ambassador class, few cardassian ships to name a few. All I need to do is sort out some of the damage textures and speak to the ppl who made the models then I'll realise a big mod with all of them. Also I might take a few of the designs from ST armada II and create some of those for SFC3.

I'll see if I can capture a piccy of the Excalibur I've done and stick it in this post in the next few days. It's not finished yet but it'll work in game - Just need to sort some textures out and create the shots for the waypoints etc.

Any ideas for weapon count?

I was thinking 2 pulse phasers and 2 quantums at the front, 2 phasers each side, 2 at the back and 2 photons at the back as well.

Put a reasonable ammount of armaments on it, so it isn´t a GOD-ship compare to the in-game ships.

P.S. Can´t w8 untill the pic!

Damn can's seem to put more than 1 on a post. :uhm:

I'll make it more powerful than Sov class because it's meant to be a bigger ship, but not more than borg cube.

Almost forgot I've created my own class - the Symbiont class - basically its a rescue ship with massive armor to protect itself while transporting ppl. Also it piggy backs a defiant class and works with it to rescue hostages etc hence the "symbiont" name. At the mo it's only a proper MAX model for rendering and I havn't done one for SFC3 yet but I will create a version of it soon.

It looks great, better detail then the stock-ships.

P.S. One thing thats bothering me, in game if you have lets say 3 forward photons, and you fire Heavy Weapons, they all come out at the same time so it looks like its only one torp. Maybe they´ll fix this in a patch, hope so atleast.

yeah I noticed that too!!!!

They fire tooooo fast as well.

If any1 can think of other classes not in the game tell me and I'll see if I can create a model for it. I do have to work so it won't be done overnight!!!!
