ive been looking at the wireframe of the original models with taldrens model viewer and i noticed theres no definate shapes like spheres and boxes which comes to do were to start i have the design just not sure which bit to start. The primary hull,nacelles,stardrive section? im using 3ds max r4.2 any help much apprecited

well just start with basic shapes like clyinders and mess with it to get it into a shape u want and just do that.
but wat about wen it comes to joining to pieces together
select the thing u want to be the parent part and right click on it and select attach and then select the other section(s)
u wouldnt know were to find any decent tutorials specifically for sfc3
modding yes modeling no
i just got to design my X-Paxk by trial and alot of error, just mess arounbd for a few hours u will learn new stuff every time u use it untill u know it all (dont ask me about texturing just yet still learnign)

u got that right, my first mod was an arcs a\nd btw the names Captain J Archer. my 2nd was an intrepid varient and i got flack for love the intrepid class too much but what about them people who love the acilies soo mucvh
the achilles aint that bad awsome ship for fire power just a little on the ugly side i do have the integrity variant u did havent tried it yet do have a idea for a variant on the intrepid that supprisingly hasnt done yet one last thing in another thread u said that there is no importer plugins for gmax is that the same for 3ds max cos if there i havent found them.
