I was searching through some files in the specs foldier and In one of the files I came across some race data, so I looked through it and found Species 8472 and the Cardassians so I am wondering if initialy the designers of SFC3 had origionally thought of putting species8472 onto the game and why they got rid of it because it would be so cool if you could fight the borg with them.

What do you think?

the way I read that, is that they were suppose to show up as opponents in the campaigns at some point. Shrug. probably something they started out doing, and never fully tweeked in for simplicitys sake.

Species 8472 would be very hard to incorporate into SFC3. They have so many differences from the other races. Their ships cannot be captured. They only have one crew: the pilot. Species only have one type of vessel, the bioship, and they do not have anything that ressembles a shuttlecraft.

and you really think that the rest of the univers's ships are operated by 6 people and a capitan?

I didn't say that all the ships have to have a a multi-person crew. To get Species 8472 into the game, many thinks would have to be change. For example, the whole officer system.

ok...here's the thing...are you playing the game.....because of the officers....or are you playing to fight the various ships?

Species8472 were intended to be an AI race I believe (I have added them as an AI race for my Dominion Wars Mod). You can add any of the other races as AI quite easily, you just need the map editor, and know exactly how to setup the Core & LoadOut files.

If they are an AI race, they don't need officers, shuttles can be turned off for any race quite easily, just give them no shuttles. Capture would be akward, although it's always disabled in the online campaigns.
