If anything, the Cardassians could be thrown in.
I did some experimenting on Species 8472
I happen to have a battle ship, a scout, a frigate, and the mother ship.
What I did in defualtCore and LoadOut is that I zeroed out marines and shuttles. I also took out the transporter and the tractorbeam.
I am not sure the species ever used a tractorbeam.
When I launched the game for species 8472.
The same ship that I took out the stuff still works but you won't be able to refit the ship in the sfc3 because it asks you to put in a tractor beam and a transporter.
I was thinking that once the species 8472 race is in the game the transporter and the tractorbeam requirements can be turned off for refits.
Like the borg race. The borg don't have any shield technology and the shield requirment was turned off for that race.
I haven't gone to the officers yet to find out if you can use one officer for species 8472. So I was thinking that making a species 8472 race can be done.
I have a full set of Species 8472 ships actually, they are all in my Dominion Wars Mod, And the Dominion Axis.

Me 5. It would be good to see the Cardassians as a playable race. And 8472 for that matter.
Maybe Marines and Shuttles could be merged for S8472 - I know they don't normally do this but you can be inventive for a game - they ships could carry a whole laod of s8472 and let them out into space (since they are made of the same stuff as their ships) they could then preceed to continutally damage the hull.
