Depends on your preferences.

Rogue - Overplayed class that is a primary melee damage dealer. Very high damage, but as this was my first ever toon I got bored very fast once I hit the top level. Hated it.

Warrior - Always needed for groups, quite fun to play both PvE / PvP, that is, if you make an effort to learn how to play it well.

Mage - Ranged damage dealer, great utility for groups, fun in PvP because you can just nuke everything. colorful too!

Warlock - Possibly one of the most overpowered classes in the game. Lots of damage, lots. Ranged damage dealer focused on damage over time spells, has various demons as pets.

Priest - Great healer but remains the black sheep of the developers, can be fun to play and Shadow Priests absolutely kick ass.

Paladin - These guys are an absolute bitch to kill at times. While their damage is rather slow, at high levels Paladin's are very hard to put down.

Shaman - Jack of all trades class, can adapt very quickly.

Druid - Hybrid class that can adapt to the role of tank, damage dealer, healer, or mage. Awesome fun to play if you learn this class.

Hunter - Ranged damage dealer with a pet. Overplayed and a bit repetitive, but can be a great utility in a balanced group.

Just my two cents.

Just because someone said they don't deal much damage is not a reason not to roll one :uhm: With that said don't be a "retadin" and realise they are a healing class. Expect to do so. Many people enjoy supporting a team this way, however.

Agreed. While the job description of many classes sounds cool. In reality it comes down to what the player base demands. Many Druids and Paladins often end up filling a healing role end game, with little to no choice as that is what they are needed for.

Warriors will have to go protection if they are the tanks, which limits solo abilities. Priests need to go Holy to sufficiently heal raids, unless you go shadow where you are a backup heal/mana replacer dude.

Just try out a few things, read up on some stuff. Find a class you like though, and make sure you enjoy it, because come end game and you don't, spot of trouble.

Best single class in the game? Druids. The WoW developers have gone on record as saying they favor the druid class, and it remains to date, one of the only classes that hasnt had its abilities nerfed in the least.

Unlike other classes where the ability to multi-task becomes worthless at higher levels (i.e A ret paladin at 70 cant hope have the healing ability to be useful at all to deal with the damage lvl 70 monsters deal) Druids remain highly capable in everything they do throughout their progression. A 70 Feral Druid isnt an ideal healer, but can heal well enough to make it viable. Not only can they heal, but they can BARELY be crowd controlled what with form shifting, can switch between excellent DPS, excellent tanking, and competent healer at a whim, but can then spam a stackable instant spell on your ass with awesome range.

Next to Warlocks, Druids are the most overpowered class in the game.

Fail to see where your going with this. They never nerfed Mangle, its still the best DoT enhancing instant damage, rapid cool down attack Druids have that doesnt blow their aggro through the roof like Maul does.

Yeah there is NO best class. it all depends on your preferred style of play. I took to the mage because i loved doing a lot of dmg in parties. but i've played every class and they're all fun imo.

Like there was said before, character selection reflects what you like and how you play.

My self rolled to Paladin when I started, but due lack of gold/silver it was not anyhow easy or effective to play. So I would not say that Paladin is any better than others if you don't have afford to good gear.

But if you have it is one interesting class to solo and do instances.

Actually they did nurf mangle, very hard!

Before the Nurf talents could boost mangles damage.

Also if your saying well I still do ZoMg crazy numbers with mangle, yup thats true the talent was never hit with a nerf in catform, its Mangle Bear that was hit very hard the max a mangle in bear can do while critting with 2600 attack power is 1200 damage, and thats to cloth.

- 2 cents
