Umm how do you expect Blizzard to pay for their mammoth servers without a monthly fee?

Elem3ntIf your only playing the game to reach lvl 60 than yeah this game is not for you. Meet people, Do raids, Join a guild, have fun with it. If you just power level then of course your going to get bored with it.

I know what you mean, and I don't "Power-Level". There's enough variety and everything, it's just that the game's too time-consuming - I sit down to play for 2 hours top, but after completing one or two quests I check the time and I've been at it for 3, even partied with others it takes longer than I can cope with. I know I sound like a whiner, because I am, but $15(US) is too much to pay for a 'game' on a monthly basis after the $60 to get it, besides here in AU it's $20/month and $80. if it was $20/2months it'd be a lot better value, especially for people who don't play much.

Yes but you are missing the point all together. Any other genre of games, once the game has come out there is maybe 1 or 2 patches to fix stability and that is it. New game content is rarely added. But in mmo's, the game developers are paid to constantly design new game content. They dont work for candy. Somehow they have to get paid and that is where your monthly fee comes into play. If you don't agree with it that is fine, but what do hope to acomplish by complaining about it? Nothing is going to change. Don't play it and move on to another game. Whoops shoulda read your whole post, I agree, I don't have a problem with monthly fees, but 20 bucks a month is friggen steep.

As long as we keep on playing it - they're going to apply the fee. As far as my opinion, I think it's very Bill Gates like! :moon: But then again I truly love the game and I am prolly going to be paying the fee for a while - what a sucker! mrstraetz.gif Blizzard!

I see why we need fee's, but I still hate them, however, guild wars is an MMORPG with no subscription fee, so it is possible. I'll still be getting WoW though, I'll probably buy game cards, one question: Do I need a credit card to get my 30 day free trial or can I just play that and enter my credit card/gamecard details later?

The monthly fee is the only thing stopping me from trying out World of Warcraft. I just don't feel that paying money to buy it, then paying what will inevitably end up to be over 10 times the cost of the game, just doesn't appeal to me.

Well Ive always been a big fan of blizzard games in the past but no way am I going to let them exploit me now with wow. I work hard for my money, why should I continue to give them my money each month just to carry on playing the game. I already have to pay for my internet connection fee each month. lol they sent me an e-mail the other day advertising the launch of wow in europe with a movie trailer. Even the friggin blizzard downloader for all the downloads now is peer to peer. Its all about saving money and making as much money as possible out of the consumer. The movie trailer was cool I have too admit, but this and all the rest of the hype about this game isnt going to fool me. My money would be better off spent in the real world, I think I can live without this game

Try the game, well worth your money. You won't stop playing it.
