Hello Everyone,

I've been looking into playing WoW for quite awhile now, and i have some questions. I was looking at the website and basically planning my character out, seeing if I could get into this at all. I liked the Night Elf Druid as a tailor, so i could make my own robes and what not. I'm open to any suggestions on the character by the way.

Are there empty servers? Not as in no people, but I like to have some alone time, more so with a new character, I can play with the commands and not look like such a noob. I mostly like to be alone as I wander the wilderness and such, Is that possible? Or are there people always walking around everywhere?

I've read that the Night Elf nation is a bit out of the way? Is this true? If so how "out of the way" are we talking? How many minutes or hours walk to the next town?

The "Resurrection" thing looked very cool, being able to walk around as a ghost but, can you lose all your stuff? say if you logout as a ghost or if you somehow die (don't ask, I'm not sure how you'd die when you dead, but I heard it was possible).

What is the general price range for stuff? is everything really expensive like on Diablo II? or does the price range flucuate?

How are the people? One of the reasons I stopped playing Runescape was the immature kids who I had to own for asking for "cex" and crap like that...Is there just an occasional n00b? or are there just areas teaming with them?

I've heard of moderators, are these people playing the game, or are they just watching the servers? How responsive are they?

Thanks in advance, I hope to be able to play by Jan. or Feb. of next year.

First nice to see you intrested in WoW. over 4 million accounts you know :naughty: As for amking a druid tailoring. It not a good idea for your planning to wear the clothes. Druids can wear leather so leather working and skinning would be a good start, but your in control can choose what you want. Wonderfull thing about WoW is that the world is HUGE!!! You can basicly solo up to level 60 if you want. (might not get the great items without a group tho) Yeah the nightelf starting area is out of the way in a sence. It is only to be reached through darkshore either by boat or Flight path. When I started my 56 NE warrior I saw nothing but NE everywhere. Nice to learn the game from a protected point. Still later on in the game its a pain in the ass to spend your time flying back to Darnassus to get an item or spells. (mount for one) http://www.thottbot.com/?z=41 For dieing.... its nothing like Diablo 2. You just die and no one can loot your corpse and you dont drop money. When you die you turn into a ghost or for a Nightelf you turn into a wisp (50% faster travel as wisp) you can res in the graveyard with the spirt there but you take a 75% duribility loss on all items and have res sickness for 10 minutes. res sickness is 75% decrease in all stats. I never try to res in the graveyard since later on in the game you have good items and it costs alot to repair. You can still run back to your corpse and res there. Nothing happens to your items and gold when you die, except when you die your equipt items takes 10% dmg. The price range for items is unstable at best sometimes. Items can be bought at vendors and the Auction House in Ironforge. Best place to buy "good" items is not from a vendor but from the Auction House. For someitems like purple items can go for like 800 gold on the Auction House. Better to just group with some people, go to a instance and get it yourself. The people in the realms are just like people in your neighborhood. Some dumbasses while some are really cool. And of course there are the guys that try to rip you off or farmers that what you to give them gold. If you find a few cool people you learn faster what people to watch out for. There will always be that "noob" that makes your group go to hell. Just gotta learn what makes a noob a noob in the game. For instance if you see a preist try to pull in an instance. Kick the priest from the group. Only the tank (warrior mostly) pulls. As for the mods. they are just like any other mods. Some times they answer fast other times its hours later.

I see...thank you, wisp thing is pretty cool, do you turn into a little glowing ball too? ;) The durability thing, can you repair items? if so, is it expensive, or does it depend on the item, lets say this was just my leather armour or something.

The best thing about n00bs who try and rip you off...they usually aren't older then 12...I just confuse them with large words and convince them to give ME money! :D ;)

I'm assuming this "instance" is what I saw on G4...the uhh..."Leroy Jenkins" incident? some noob who just runs into a highly dangerous area for laughs...or because they think they are so "l33t"?

Also, how does the shadow meld work in WoW? and do people of all kinds goto the Island? or will I see like 99% Night Elf?

Well for one thing only the night elf in the game have shadow meld, and it lets you disappear into the shadows... but if you move you reappear again. When you do go to repair, there are different kinds of gear for example if you have epic leather or in my case epic plate which is purple gear... will cost you any where between 5-30 gold which is a lot of money, but your gear should only cost roughly 50 copper up towards 5 gold until you start wearing blue items which is about lvl 30+ in most cases. like the guy above said about the newbs pulling like the priest pulling, yes you will find a lot of them around here and there, also be aware of the ninja-looters in the game too...

Maybe another good thing to know: find yourselve a good guild ( if you want to join one that is) usually your guildmembers help you with difficult quests and sometimes give you free stuff (in my case that happens a lot, I'm in an extremely nice guild)

and your ghost CAN die :p My b/f was playing once and jumped of the boat to early, his character got tired and drowned, after that his ghost tried to walk back to his corpse over the water and the ghost got tired and died again. It was really funny and stupid to see :)

You can still have alone time and go solo but when it comes to Raids well you cant solo that, there are places that not many people go you just need to find them.
