I need some feedback from all of you. We uploaded the WoW patch as a .rar file. What I need to know is how a big a deal is it that it is in that format. I personally think that we need those types of programs these days as more and more people are compressing their files. Let me know how you users feel and I'll try to ensure that we upload a .exe file as well, if it is possible. Please remember I said I'd try. There are no guarantees but I will do my best.

Maybe upload it as a .zip file too?

Winzip cannot handle rar files; winrar can handle zips.

I find a program called ExtractNow works really well for .rar files. I absolutely detest WinRAR.

Well it turns out Blizzard sent it out in rar form so we put it up that way. All I can say is check the network site if you don't like other formats. They seem to be really good at getting alternative versions. If you guys have problems with a file I will try and get a different one up or at least point you in the right direction to where it is on the network site.

I guess this thread can be closed.

Meh, who doesn't have something that can open .rar these days? I'd rather download a smaller, compressed file.
