Hiyah, i have just gotten my grubby lil hands on a brand-spanking-new copy of w.o.w but i have no idea wat realm to choose, ill prolly go for a pvp-type server, definetly not role playing server cause thats just FRIGGIN WIERD Mainly i have 3 questions: 1) Wats better; pvp or normal 2) Is it better the join a high, med or low population server 3) Wats the best server for an aussie like myself to join? (close to aus...thus low lag) Ty
Welcome to the never-ending World of Warcraft!
1) It's all up to preference. I prefer PvP, 'coz I love to kill people :) Others prefer to just stick to Role-Playing, or PvE, or aren't into the war scene. Nothing is better as such, they're the same except the ways in which you can attack people are differnet. It's up to the usr.
2&3) Well, I can answer both 2&3 in one answer here: Blizzard has set up two 'Oceanic' realms for players like us from Oz and NZ. When you go the Realm Selection, down the bottom on the left will be 'Oceania' and 'United States'. Choose Oceania, and there will be two servers to choose from. One is PvP, the other Normal. You said you were leaning toward PvP, then you'll wanna go Frostmourne.
Hope I helped. Welcome to WoW, have fun!
I joined a few weeks ago on the Oceania preffered PVP server Frostmourne, that is where a lot of aussies made alts or started again. PVP is more fun than PVE because world pvp is heaps fun.
Only downside to PvP server is getting ganked in the lower level contested zones by high levels :(
It happens, yeah, but then you get higher and gank in return :D
'Gank' is a bit of internet slang, meaning ganged up on, or killed by someone much higher than you.
Did you go Alliance or Horde ScOrPY?
Same name and I'm on horde. 54 UD mage.
Cool. I started a character there first day, but never played him - just tested out the ping. I really wanna get my characters transferred, 'coz don't wanna start again.
