Comments: This map is an absolute must. You haven’t played AOM until you have played this scenario. The only reason the rating is 90% is because you, as the player, are utterly under built in comparison. This might as well be categorized as a map set to ‘Titan’ for difficulty. It’s possible, easy even after you build up, but very hard to survive the first attack. OOPS! I’ve said too much!
The Great War of the Ring This is my first scenario so I'm winging a lot of this. But I'll give instructions as best I can. Installation: 1. After extracting the files, Place the .scn file in the scenario folder. 2. I changed the stats on many of the units for this scenario so if you want to get the full enjoyment out of the scenario, you will need to download Vanchu's object editor to apply the stats to it. Once you have it, simply place the Middle Earth.ofd file in your Microsoft Games Folder (it doesn't need to go into any sub-folders) and apply the settings to the game with the object editor. 3. I also changed the names of many of the objects to reflect Middle Earth, but the list is far too long to supply it here. If by some miracle, this turns out to be a popular scenario, I may make a list of all the name changes I made. To change them, you will also need Vanchu's text editor. 4. I used one sound file that was not included with AoM, so I've included it. Place it in the dialogue sub-folder of the sound folder. I know it's a taunt, but I triggered it for dialogue. 5. I also found that the aomdefaultwaterfix.ai worked best of the ai files I have, so that is also included here if you want to use it and don't have it. Place that in the ai folder. I worked on this scenario for a long time to hopefully make it as challenging as possible and get all the bugs out of it. I eventually got tired of running it, so I can't guarantee it's perfect. I played it mostly on the hard level so that should work best. All the computer players have all their buildings from the very beginning of the game, but you don't, so you will have to do a little catch up. Read the objective and hint to get more info.
