I honestly can't say much about this one. For some reason I coulden't get it to work. The guy who submitted it was pretty psyched about it. But I couldn't get online with it. Something about a "Version verification denied."
So anyone who can work it post your thoughts about it.
Version. 1.0 Introduction: The AXP team has done it again! Lethal Tournament is a serious, exciting, action-packed mod for Aliens vs. Predator 2 version 188.8.131.52. In fact, it’s more of an expansion set than a mod. This mod adds more characters, more features, removes/reduces spamming capabilities, and requires more skill to play. However, it keeps intact the aspects of the original game that made it so great. Although this mod can be played using the original techniques used by players in the original game, those who are inflexible and unwilling to step up to the next level of AVP2 game play will be in for quite a shock. This game mod will force players to play the game differently than they ever have before while at the same time requires them to keep in mind the basic principles they learned from the original game. Installation: (1) Place lethal.rez in the root of your game directory (ie: C:\Program Files\Fox\Aliens vs. Predator 2\). (2) Start the game normally. (3) When the splash screen appears, click "OPTIONS" in the main start up menu. (4) Enter the following command-line into the space provided: -rez lethal.rez (see figure 1) (5) Place an "x" in the box that says: "Always specify these command-line parameters" (6) Click PLAY and play the game. Figure 1. An Alternative Method of Installation: (1) Place lethal.rez in the root of your game directory (ie: C:\Program Files\Fox\Aliens vs. Predator 2\). (2) Start the game using the provided shortcut icon (see figure 2). If your game directory is located other than the default path, you will have to modify this shortcut's path to reflect your path. (3) Play the game. Figure 2. Running the Mod on a Dedicated Server: (1) Create a file called "customrez.txt" in the root of your Alien vs. Predator 2 game folder. (2) Add the following text to the file [Rez] rez0 = "lethal.rez" ***Note: If you are willing to set up dedicated servers strictly for this mod, please let me know as I will have an updated list of IP addresses of these servers will be posted on the website. For website link details, visit the major AVP2 information sites. If you are running dedicated or non-dedicated servers of this mod, please identify that in the server name. Here is an example of what to look for when searching for or setting up Lethal Tournament mod servers: !Lethal Mod 1.0! General Modifications: Single player games have been disabled and removed from the menus. The menu backgrounds have changed. Taunts have been modified or have been added. All characters are susceptible to facehugger attacks (this includes other facehuggers, synthetics, and exosuits). Weapons have new, unique crosshairs, and special effects. All characters are susceptible to be on fire. When class weapons setting is turned OFF, players start with all available weapons for their race (humans & predators), while aliens gain a 33% damage modification with claw attacks. Some text messages have been modified. In the pre-game player selection menu, character stats (speed, armor, health, weapons, skills, etc) are shown now. Exosuit moves slower and jumps not quite as high with normal and running jumps. Spring jump remains the same. Exosuit does not have crosshairs for any weapons. Weapon Order: All characters have the following weapon order: Humans · pistol slot#1*** · knife slot#2*** · shotgun slot#3 · pulse rifle slot#4 · grenade launcher slot#5 · flame thrower slot#6 · smart gun slot#7 · SADAR slot#8 · minigun slot#9 · sniper rifle slot#10 (key "0") Synths · pistol slot#1*** · knife slot#2*** · shotgun slot#3 · pulse rifle slot#4 · grenade launcher slot#5 · flame thrower slot#6 · smart gun slot#7 · SADAR slot#8 · minigun slot#9 · sniper rifle slot#10 (key "0") Predators · spear slot#1*** · claw slot#2*** · pistol slot#3 · spear gun slot#4 · shoulder cannon slot#5 · disc slot#6 · net gun slot#7 · remote bombs slot#8 Aliens When CLASS WEAPONS is set to OFF, then alien claw attacks yield 33% more damage. *** Notice they've merely been swapped. Predator Modifications: Predator howls when using medikit for all to hear (3D sound with large sound radius). Exosuits can be seen much more vividly in Predator thermal vision mode. Predators can fall greater distances without taking damage. Predators' run-jump and spring-jump are slightly higher. Energy sift can be heard by surrounding players further away (double distance). Predators’ spring-jump is higher. Predators give off a more subtle pheromone aura. Aliens view these auras as white rather than bright green, and more opaque. It is much more difficult for aliens to see cloaked predators. Predator Weapon Modifications: Predator disk does not track or home. It does 2000 points of damage, uses no energy to retrieve, and does not leave a light trail. Predator Spear gun has faster projectile velocity. Alt-fire on predator spear gun fires poisoned darts causing 2 points of damage per second for up to 10 seconds (does only 25 instant damage). Absolutely no predator weapons decloak the predator when fired. Predator claw does a lot more damage. Spear range increased by ten percent (10%). The predator shoulder cannon does not home. It travels much faster, uses less energy, and does more damage (takes more skill to use, however). Remote bombs default starting amount has been increased from three (3) to nine (9). Max amount is 12. They also fly a bit straighter. The shoulder cannon alt-fire disables the tracking device and shoots where the crosshair appears (it shoots straight). The standard predator class now has a shoulder cannon instead of a pistol. Predator primary-fire of the pistol now uses slightly more energy to use. The alt-fire shoots only EMP/stun projectiles and uses less energy than the primary-fire. Spear gun has greater (double) range. Predator net gun does 25 hit points of damage per shot as well as its traditional netting of prey. Predator NavVision mode now supports SC targeting of non-predator species. New Predators: The Champion Predator runs as fast as a light predator, can spring-jump very high, has increased run and walk jumps. It has more health than the assault predator (350). It has all standard predator vision modes. Its class weapons are: o spear o claw o net gun The Range Predator has statistics equivalent to a light predator. Its optical zoom is modified for optimization of shooting while running. It has all standard predator vision modes. Its class weapons are: o spear o shoulder cannon o pistol o spear gun The Dark Predator is a predator that does not believe in honor nor pride. It's a standard predator as far as stats goes. It has all standard predator vision modes. It can open doors and use items from further away. Its class weapons are: o spear o pistol o disc o remote bombs The Challenge Predator is a predator that has ONLY normal vision mode and cannot use zoom. It has slightly higher health than a heavy predator (450). It moves as fast as a heavy predator. Its weapons DO NOT have crosshairs. Its class weapons are: o spear o claw o pistol o disc o shoulder cannon o net gun o spear gun o remote bombs Existing Predators: The Light Predator is an existing predator. Its class weapons are: o spear o spear gun o disc o remote bombs The Predator is an existing predator. Its class weapons are: o spear o claw o disc o shoulder cannon o net gun The Assault Predator is an existing predator. Its class weapons are: o spear o pistol o shoulder cannon o net gun o remote bombs The Heavy Predator is a heavy armored predator. Its class weapons are: o spear o claw o disc o net gun Human Modifications: All humans can spring-jump slightly higher allowing them to have tremendously more access to places on common maps. Most marines wear helmets and shoulder lamps. Humans can fall from higher heights without dying. New head skin for Johnson. Her original hair-stylist was fired. Night vision has been enhanced. Humans can be stunned by EMP grenades. Human Weapon Modifications: Minigun holds more max ammo (changed from 900 to 4000). Default ammo is 1000. Shotgun does more damage (slugs increased from 180 to 200). Shotgun buckshot rounds fire with a slight choke keeping the pellets in a tighter group. Shotgun pellet count has been increased from 8 to 13. The knife does much more damage (changed from 5 to 25). Grenade launchers do not have spider mines anymore. They have been replaced with High Explosive impact grenades (almost equivalent to pipe grenades but explode on impact and only do 200 damage versus 250). SADAR guided missile tracks and homes very "weakly". The missile moves slower towards its target as well. It only does EMP damage to a wide area. Standard rockets have a greater HE damage radius now. The pistol is using new magnum-style rounds. As such, this magnum's primary ammo damage has been increased from 35 to 40 & AP ammo damage has been increased from 35 to 45. Pistol AP rounds have double range and shoot straighter now. The pistol ammo count for primary rounds per clip has been increased from 12 to 15. The AP ammo has been reduced from 12 to 10 per clip. The max default (starting) ammo for primary ammo is 72 rounds up from the original 36. The rail gun has 15 rounds default, 30 rounds max, but has an enhanced HUD and does significantly less damage per round. For most characters it will take two or more shots from the rail gun to kill them. The smaller characters can be killed with one hit... if one can hit them, that is. The crosshair has been returned to the primary-fire mode. The flame thrower has different mechanics now. The user can become burned if the weapon is used recklessly. It also has gravity-affected napalm dispersal now. The minigun shoots much faster and does less damage per round. It has tracer rounds but does not have a crosshair. The pulse rifle damage per round has been increased from 25 to 30. Pulse rifle impact grenades are limited to 4 maximum. New Marines: Jennings is a standard human with the following class weapon set: o pulse rifle o rail gun o pistol o knife Duke is a standard human with the following class weapon set: o pulse rifle o smart gun o pistol o knife Woods is a standard human with the following class weapon set: o rail gun o SADAR o pistol o knife Blackwell is a standard human with the following class weapon set: o grenade launcher o minigun o pistol o knife Synth Modifications: Synthetics have a very far falling distance. Light synths can be stunned (50% chance). Heavy Combat Synths cannot be stunned. Synths do not have an underwater time limit. Synths have a new vision mode. Light synths can spring-jump very high. Light synths move faster than humans. New Synths (Corporates Only): The Heavy Synthetic is a new, heavily armored class. It moves extremely slowly. It has an enhanced armor modification but with a movement speed penalty. It gives off no aura. Its class weapons are: o minigun o SADAR o pistol o knife Synth Officer is a new, lightly armored synthetic class. It gives off no aura. It moves quickly and can spring-jump very high but has an armor penalty. Its class weapons are: o rail gun o grenade launcher o pistol o knife Synth Hazmat is a new, lightly armored synthetic class. It gives off no aura. It moves quickly and can spring-jump very high but has an armor penalty. Its class weapons are: o pulse rifle o minigun o pistol o knife Eisenberg is a new, lightly armored synthetic class. It gives off no aura . It moves quickly and can spring-jump very high but has an armor penalty. Its class weapons are: o smartgun o SADAR o pistol o knife o Alien Modifications Alien head bite has greater range (50% more). Hunting vision mode has been modified for more melee effectiveness. All aliens except queens, praetorians, and facehuggers can theoretically double or triple their maximum health by eating. All players can be eaten by aliens. They also receive more points per swipe or head bite doing so. Praetorians can wall-walk and pounce (pounce yields no damaging effects, however). All aliens except praetorians have a 25% chance of being stunned by stun effects (Praetorians = 75%). Sprinters and jumpers have extended FOV's. Aliens have no crosshairs anymore for anything. New Aliens: A new alien class called the Jumper pounces very far and has a deadly pounce attack. It is very much like a Runner otherwise. It does not have a tail or head bite attack, however. A new alien class character called the Sprinter has been added. This is essentially a runner-skinned drone that runs faster than a runner. It can pounce but does little if any damage while doing so. It has less health than a runner & does the same attack damage as a runner. Make sure crouch is enabled! This feature is what gives it its speed otherwise its speed equals that of a drone. It does not have a tail or head bite attack, however. The Facehugger is a full-time, playable character (WARNING! ALIEN LIFECYCLE SETTING MUST BE TURNED OFF!). Due to technical constraints, the critter does not actually face hug its victims. A facehugger does 500 damage per pounce attack (capable of killing most others characters with one hit). The facehugger only has 5 hit points. The Queen is a playable character. Required Settings: Turn off alien lifecycle!!! Facehuggers (critters) do not use the same game mechanics. If left on, non-facehugger alien players will never progress to full-grown aliens... they will always remain facehuggers. Recommended Settings: Set QUEEN MOLTING KILLS to zero. Although queen molting will work, the queen is now a playable character. Comments: Remember that synthetics do not give off auras for aliens to see. They do show up in predator thermal vision however. Alien auras surrounding predators may vary depending on players video card and or graphics settings. YET ANOTHER WARNING… ALIEN LIFECYCLE SETTING MUST BE TURNED OFF! Known Issues: The next/previous weapon menu for humans/synths may not work correctly. If not, simply switch to another race, then switch back. That should resolve the problem. Obviously, you cannot do this in certain game types such as Hunt, etc. Some models may appear to be "running" even when they are not moving. Some of the new characters' heads may not show up. Simply switch to another race, and then switch back. That should resolve the problem.
