File Description
This map is a modifed version of the original DM_Ruinous Multiplayer map that I released some time back. The original map has a heap of technical problems that have been fixed with this version. Despite having the opportunity to rectify its various problems, I wasn't interested in re-releasing the same DM map and have multiple versions of it creating incompatiblility issues amongst players. Instead, I decided to use it as a base to create a Skirmish version for some serious Single Player bug smacking fun.

SK_Ruinous Version 1.0
----------------------

Yeah, Baby!!!

For the greater part, the basic layout of the map geometry remains completely unchanged. I was considering modifying the brushwork and including some -nosnapnocsg to create a more natural rocky terrain, but then it just wouldn't be the same map - and I wanted to keep the core design as close as possible to the original. Nonetheless, a number of significant changes have been made to bring it up to Single Player Skirmish standard. New features for this Single Player Skirmish version are:

* Geometry tidied up and sealed properly: Applied Detail 0/1 flags appropriately. Removed offending Translucent World Models... etc. The DM version is in a pretty poor state, technically - but hey, aesthetically, it wasn't bad for a first attempt at AvP2 map creation.
* Ladders have been added for improved mobility. Marines can now access the uppermost level and navigate the entire circuit.
* Lighting has been changed throughout the map.
* Sky appearance altered. Now uses the green sky texture rather than the blue one.
* Weapon placement has been altered for many items, if not all. All Marine weapons are now represented - except the Exosuit.
* All Predator Spawn points removed.
* Alien Spawn points modified to continually spawn AI Bugs.
* Music has been added.
* Marine Night vision mode now functions corectly - though you probably won't use it much.
* This version supports only Drones and Runners. There are no Predaliens, Praetorians, Chest Bursters or Face Huggers present in the map. Face Huggers suck big cooties in Skirmish games. Please don't include 'em if you want of make maps like this one. ...and there are no AI Predators or AI Marines/Corporates present either.
* The map has been 'signed'and 'dated'.
* A number of other small tweaks have been made that may or may not get noticed by people familiar with the older DM version.
  Yeah, overall there's been a lot of changes made. One day I may go back and update the MP version to match this one, but right now I have a ton of other stuff on my plate...

Enjoy.
