TALON MAP PACK 3				(July 18, 2005)

Installation:  Copy rez file to your custom folder and add -rez custom/TALONMP3.rez to your command line.

These map packs are designed to follow up where Acid Glow left off with CMP4.  So download that and of course TALON Map Pack 1 and 2 (from www.fileplanet.com) then this and you should be up to date.  It is also recommended that you download Kevin Whites map packs at www.avp2maps.com

*  These maps load as normal DM/TDM maps but they are objective based maps.  The maps reset when the objectives are completed and you will see that everyone in the game dies as part of that reset process.  The readme’s for those maps are included below and should be read so that you understand how to play on these maps.

Crystal Crash

Its a twist on the TDM game play, Both sides have a base, within it there is a crystal to defend or attack the objective is to destroy the opposing teams Crystal and be the first to reach 3 points (there is a scoreboard for checking in each base).

Once you destroy the Crystal a few messages will appear including "Round Restarting" You'll be killed as the round restart, now now don't bitch, its to return each team to there own base. It would be a short game if you could stand and wait for the next crystal to spawn.

You'll need good team work and cover if you decide to brave no mans land or maybe you'll take the covert way with the caves and cliffs?

GAMEPLAY ENHANCEMENT
Class weapons OFF
No Time Limit (it can get pretty intense and the last thing you want is to end it by a time limit)
A High Frag limit (Once a team reaches 3 points the map becomes standard TDM)
Can be played with 2 vs 2 but for best results 4 vs 4 plus

This is meant to be a Corp vs Rine map but there are spawn points for both alien and pred's if you want to enabled them and mix things up a bit :) maybe even recruit the extra species to your side ;)


HELL’s GATE

Gameplay
--------

Hell's Gate is an Objective based, Team Deathmatch map designed for gameplay between Marines and Aliens ONLY.  A minimum of 8 (2 teamsx4) Players is needed to enter the map to play effectively.  16 (2 teamsx8) Players is recommended for the best experience:


Marine Objective 1 (OFFENSIVE):
-------------------------------
Locate the Gate and open it.  Penetrate deeper into the bowels of the Earth and find the Xenomorph nest.  Set up 2 explosive devices in the egg chambers and then destroy the nest by detonating the explosives remotely.  This action will trigger a Victory for the Marines.

Marine Objective 2 (DEFENSIVE):
-------------------------------
Prevent ANY Xenomorphs from escaping to the Earth's surface:  There are several constrictions and choke points in the map that will permit easy sentry duty for Marines playing a defensive role.  Guard these locations carefully.  Allowing any Xenomorphs to escape to the surface will result in your failure - and the end of Humanity.


Alien Objective 1 (OFFENSIVE):

Once the Marines have opened the Gate, a path will be created that will allow access to the Earth's surface and provide Aliens with the opportunity to contaminate the World. Eluding the Marines and escaping from the subterranean confines to the surface will trigger a Victory for the Aliens.

Alien Objective 2  (DEFENSIVE):
-------------------------------
Protect the nest.  Marines successfully penetrating the nest will result in your failure as they are determined to drive your species into extinction.

See picture below for more details on achieving species specific Objectives.


For either team to achieve success in completing their Objectives and win the game, it will be necessary to have players taking on roles of both Offensive and Defensive positions.  Use the Player Spawn areas (Marine = canyon; Alien = hive.) to organise and co-ordinate your assault/defence strategies of these critical locations and decide which Players will adopt these specific team roles.  

All players will be aurally alerted to the opening of the gate and also to the placing of the explosives with appropriate global sound effects.

This map features the return of the infamous 'Predator Gas Chamber' and 'Mercenary Facehugger Death Pit'.  So, it is STRONGLY RECOMMENDED that Players who prefer to play as Predators and Mercs consider rejoining the game as either Aliens or Marines.  You have been warned.

Recommended Settings:

Keep team numbers balanced.  Any odd numbered Players should join the Marine's team.

Friendly Fire - Off
Exosuit - Unavailable in this map
Queen Molts - 6
Predators - Off  ...you don't really have a choice, anyway.
Mercs - Off  ...you don't have a choice, either.

Wow you read the whole readme (or skipped to the end!), well here’s your reward:  There’s a secret area in “Pirimid”.  At the lower area of the map are two buttons hidden in the wall near the big floor light.  Look closely and you’ll find them.  One opens a secret passage, and the other takes you to the Queen chamber.
