Following on from the interesting anti-cheating news from PUBG Corp yesterday, it seems that Apex Legends has it's own clever methods to thwart cheaters and general bad-eggs, by basically matching them up with themselves.
Once gain Machine Learning is being used to tackle the problem. When certain behaviors are detected, cheats are auto-banned. What's interesting, though, is that players who are highly suspect are matched together in games exclusively manned by fellow cheaters - so effectively they're syphoned off into their own little world of cheat vs. cheat, where the only time wasted is their own.
It's a nice little idea. removing the cheaters from legitimate games and protecting the community while not immediately banning or tipping off hack creators to slow them down and prevent them moving on to the next hack or exploit.
Respawn are also addressing people teaming up for matches, stating that "Even if you are not specifically using a cheat, partying up with cheaters is still cheating," - and as such, players doing this will face the same consequences.
