If there's one downside I can level at Apex Legends, it's that sometimes, having to partner with a random stranger when you just want to play solo can be a real chore, pot-luck affair. Thankfully, Respawn have listened, and a new solo mode will be coming to the game on August 13th.

The bad news is the new solo mode will only run for two weeks as part of the Iron Crown Collection event, ending on the 27th. Hopefully though this is a test to gauge demand for a solo mode, and that it will make a more permanent return.

It's a bit of an odd-one out currently, as other Battle Royale's such as PUBG have always offered a solo mode. The only downside to solo mode in Apex would be the ability and respawn systems, which are designed for teams, but it'll be interesting to see how this is addressed.
