Well this, I "think" is a Species 8472 Ship. I've never managed to work them out personally, half their stations look like ships and can move so whos' to know. Anyhow, download if you'd like. :)
Species 8472 Observer - Organic mass that acts as a sensor array.: Hello: I am Chiletrek and this mod contains a kitbash I made from the Sentinel to create the much needed sensor array for Species 8472. Things I made: 1) An update of the Sentinel's texture and all things it can build (they all use the same one). 2) New model along with a buildbutton, wireframe, Admiral's Log pic and ODF. 39 This Read me with detailed instructions to make this mod fully playable (for you and the AI). Installation Instructions: 1) Unzip the contents of this file on a temporary folder. 2) Open your Star Trek Armada II folder. 3) Copy 8472_observer.sod and paste it in your SOD folder. 4) Copy 8472_observer.bmp and paste it in your \bitmaps\AdmiralsLog\ShipImages folder. 5) Copy 8472_defender.tga, 8472wireobserver.tga & gb8472_observer.tga , and paste them in your \Textures\RGB folder. 6) Copy 8472_observer.odf and paste it in your \odf\stations folder. 7) Open your Sprites folder and open gui_global.spr with Notepad. 8) Search for: # 8472 build buttons @reference=64 @tmaterial=default 9) Paste this line: b_8472_observer gb8472_observer 0 0 64 64 below the last 8472 build button. 10) Now Search for: #8472 Wireframes @reference=256 11) Paste this line: 8472_observerw1 8472wireobserver 256 256 256 256 below the last 8472 wireframe. - To add the Observer to the Map Editor: 12) Open your \odf\other folder. 13) Search and open with Notepad the file: e8_stati.odf 14) add this line below the last line: item* = "8472_observer" , where * is the next number, if you haven't modded anything, it should be number 4 . - To add the station to the Defender bioship: 15) Go to your odf\ships folder and open 8472_defender.odf with Notepad, search the Construction Parameters and add: buildItem2 = "8472_observer" Below buildItem1 = "8472_Sentinel" - To make the Ai build observers: 16) Open your \AI\AIPs folder. 17) Search all five files of species8472. 18) Open every one with Notepad and search for the "Phase II. Fluidic Gate" 19) Add this: "8472_observer", 1,0, -1, 0, between the Defender and the Mines and it should look like this: "8472_defender", 1,0, -1, 0, "8472_observer", 1,0, -1, 0, "8472_mine", 1,0, -1, 0, do the same on all five files there. 20) Pheewwww, Finally, you are ready to enjoy this mod, I'm sorry to make such long read me but it was neccesary to avoid problems. Now you and the AI are ready to build Observers ingame, which are very useful to detect cloaked enemy ships. Credits: 1) Gene Roddenberry: For creating the Star Trek saga.
