Federation Galaxy-X-EX - Heavily armed version of the standard Galaxy-EX (Expedition) Sub-type.: Hello: I am Chiletrek and this mod contains a kitbash I made from a new Galaxy Class variant, the Galaxy-X-EX, by combining elements of the Galaxy-X with the Galaxy-EX (both present in my future pack release). Things I made: 1) An update of the Galaxy Stardrive's texture to include phaser arrays in the nacelles and ablative armor (present in the Galaxy-Venture version, also in my future pack). 2) New model along with a buildbutton, wireframe, Admiral's Log pic and ODF. 3) This Read me with detailed instructions to make this mod fully playable (for you and the AI). Installation Instructions: 1) Unzip the contents of this file on a temporary folder. 2) Open your Star Trek Armada II folder. 3) Copy fgalaxy-xex.sod and paste it in your SOD folder. 4) Copy fgalaxy-xex.bmp and paste it in your \bitmaps\AdmiralsLog\ShipImages folder. 5) Copy F_GalaxyVentureHull.tga, F_GalaxyVentureHull_B.tga, fgalaxy-exwire.tga & gbfgalaxyex.tga , and paste them in your \Textures\RGB folder. 6) Copy fgalaxy-xex.odf and paste it in your \odf\ships folder. 7) Copy fxvphas.odf and fxvphaso.odf and paste them in your odf\weapons\phasers folder 8) Open your Sprites folder and open gui_global.spr with Notepad. 9) Search for: # Federation build buttons @reference=64 10) Paste this line: b_fgalaxy-xex gbfgalaxyex 0 0 64 64 below the last Federation build button. 11) Now Search for: # Federation wireframes @reference=128 12) Paste this line: fgalaxy-xexw1 fgalaxy-exwire 256 256 256 256 below the last Federation wireframe. - To add the ship to the Advance Shiyard: 16) Go to your odf\stations folder and open fyard2.odf with Notepad, search the Construction Parameters and add: buildItem* = "fgalaxy-xex" Below the last item build, normally this would be the item number 5, if not, follow a correct numerical sequence to avoid problems ingame. - Techtree: 17) Open your techtree folder. 18) Open tech1.tt, search the last Federation entry and paste this: fgalaxy-xex.odf 1 fresear2.odf and now open fulltech.tt and search the last Federation entry to add this: fgalaxy-xex.odf 0 That way you'll have this new ship in both Normal Tech and Free tech games. 19) Pheewwww, Finally, you are ready to enjoy this mod, I'm sorry to make such long read me but it was neccesary to avoid problems. Now you are ready to build this new type of Galaxy Class, which is very powerful, very effective to protect your base or resource stations, or to lead your and you allies fleets into victory!. For maximum enjoyment of the stock textures, you may select all files with _1 & _2 in their filenames and cut them to a safe location for backups.
