MamaCube

mamacube_v1.zip

Description

Well folks, this is a nicely retextures cube, that can build spheres. Taken from the game and edited, this I feel is a nice edition and for any of those that liked the Sphere-Cube scene from First Contact, this is bound to be a worthy addition.

README

Star Trek Armada II
The Mamacube
By: Reptus

Description: Well, I was looking through the files and I noticed this one file called
bmama.odf. It was an old, unused Borg fusion cube - but why was it called the "Mamacube"?
I still haven't quite figured that out yet, but I'm guessing it was the cube that opens up
and releases a sphere from Star Trek: First Contact. I've completely reprogrammed it and
added a few new things, including the ability to build Spheres.

Installation:

1. Copy all the files included into their directories (or just unzip directly into your A2
directory).

2. Open sprites\gui_global.spr and add these lines to the very bottom:

//Borg Mamacube
@tmaterial=default
@reference=64
b_bmamasmall				gbbbattle1	0	0	64	64
b_bmama					gbbbattle3	0	0	64	64
b_gmcubeintegrator	gbcubeintegrator00	0	0 	64	64
@tmaterial=interface
@reference=256
bmamasmallw1			borgwireframe01	0	0	48	48
bmamasmallw2			borgwireframe01	48	0	48	48
bmamasmallw3			borgwireframe01	96	0	48	48
bmamasmallw4			borgwireframe01	144	0	48	48
bmamasmallw5			borgwireframe01	192	0	48	48
bmamaw1				borgwireframe02	0	144	48	48
bmamaw2				borgwireframe02	48	144	48	48
bmamaw3				borgwireframe02	96	144	48	48
bmamaw4				borgwireframe02	144	144	48	48
bmamaw5				borgwireframe02	192	144	48	48

3. Add these lines to tech1.tt and fulltech.tt:

bmamasmall.odf	0 //You may want to add something here.
bmama.odf	1 bmamasmall.odf //Please do not make this 0, even in fulltech.tt.
gmcubeintegrator.odf	0

4. Add these lines to a shipyard odf (preferably borg) and change XX to the next number in
the list:

buildItemXX = "bmamasmall"

5. If you want to be able to place this in the editor, add the following lines to the
bottom of odf\other\eb_named.odf:

item2 = "bmamasmall"
item3 = "bmama"

6. To build a Mamacube, either place it in the editor or build 8 Sections and combine them.
