The Ronin is one of those ships that you just love, but never seem to see anywhere and gradually forget about it because of its seeming non-existance. Its raw power and looks are to die for, giving the Federation a real kick with one of these in the fleet; think of it as a more agile and slightly toned down Sovereign and that's basically what this is. History aside, I've got to say that personally the Ronin is a great looking ship that doesn't go against the Federation philosophy whilst still having weapons. With that in mind that, I can confidently say that Aad has faithfully re-created the ship for spangley A2 use. And a use from it thou shall recieveth.

You get the choice of two pretty well balanced ships to put in; the powerful explorer type vessel (stronger than the stock Sovereign and Galaxy) or the more powerful battleship version, which boasts a couple of extra weapons. Either way, you're looking at something that is pretty powerful and not to be underestimated. Balance is as expected with Aad, as is the quality of model and textures which from the screenshots is pretty easy to see as being high quality. As expected again, the mod package is complete, with build buttons and Borg textures to mention just some of the stuff looked for in a single file. There isn't really much else to say about this one. Generally very high quality, will fit snuggly in in-game, both as a powerhouse and a looker and will certainly quench any thirst you had of needing a new ship to defend the Federation.

Ronin class by Aad Moerman

I was thinking of recreating this ship, when a fellow member asked me to do this. As I don't use other models, I rebuilt it from scratch, looking closely at the original on pics and textures from BC. Textures I made as well anew.
 
The original design is by Hobbes. Getting in touch with him or Dream Arts Productions was unsuccesful. 

As allways, thanks to Wrath of Achilles for his Texture Tutorial and Major A Payne for his SodTutorial.

The Ronin was designed as a fast battlecruiser, to strike at an enemy with its massive torpedo and phaserbanks. This class had less mass than the Sovereign class, but was more manoeuvrable and could even outmatch her in armament and shieldprotection. Ships of this class were also used in special missions and as mid-range explorers.

This folder contains 2 versions of the Ronin class, the strike variant and the explorer. (The difference is that the  explorer variant lacks the heavy forward phaserscannons under the saucer. It's just a matter of tast.)

Installation instructions
First open the file of your choise (the strike variant or the explorer)

Put the sod file into the sod folder and the odf file into the odf ship folder. 

put the tga into the texture RGB folder. ( I include the MS3D files for those who are interested.)
Open Bitmaps --> open Admiralslog --> open ShipImages and put the image there.
