With the BFMET 2v2 tournament finals being held this weekend. It is time to announce the next huge BFME2 tournament. So BTT would like to announce the BFME2 1v1 World Tournament. This tournament will be open to as many players that want to sign-up. Prizes will range from high-end graphic cards to custom gaming Mice and keyboards. Here are the rules: Welcome to Big Time Tournaments' first 1v1 BFME2 Tournament! Below you can find instructions that explain exactly how to join the tournament, and below those you'll find the rules you need to follow (sorry, but we need them). FIRST AND FOREMOST To enter this tournament you MUST: a) ...have an account on the BTT Forums. If you don't already have one, you might as well make one right now, and once it is made come back and read the rest of this. b) ...have an account on ClanWars (www.clanwars.cc) and a username in the BFME2 League. If you don't already have an account you should sign-up using the same name you play with online. If you have ANY questions or comments on what you've just read, please email me, brian_177, at [email protected] Tournament Break Down: Match Dates: July 29th and every Saturday after that until we have a winner! Tournament Times: These will be e-mailed to you weekly Tournament Type: 1v1 Double Elimination Player Count: Up to 1000+ players All rounds will be hosted by the players, With the exception of the final rounds, which a BFMET Admin will Mod / Observe the matches. Tournament Prizes: 1st Place- TBA 2nd Place - TBA 3rd Place - TBA 4th Place - TBA Your Tournament Rounds: For those of you who may be confused by the word "round", 'rounds' occur once a week. This tournament will be a double elimination tournament, which means that you can lose a game and still win the round. If you lose the first game of the round and win the second game you continue to a third game which decides the outcome of the round. In other words, it's best of three games. For those of you who still don't get it, if you win the first two games, you win the round (likewise, if you lose the first two, you're out of the tournament.) If you have ANY questions or comments on what you've just read, please email me, brian_177, at [email protected] The Tournament Clock Within a week or two a clock will be setup at clanwars.cc in the BFME2 Tournaments section. This clock will stay running throughout the whole tournament and this is the clock by which you base your game time. The clock will be set in PST, or GMT -8. That's right, it's NOT YOUR HOME TIME. If your email says you play at 9am, you play at 9am PER THE TOURNAMENT CLOCK. This is crucial, as things will go very wrong if people misunderstand this aspect. For those of you who live on the other side of the world from me, don't worry, I'm taking timezones into account, and will be basing who you play accordingly. Again, I stress that I will do everything I can to stop your match from occurring at a strange time! If you have ANY questions or comments on what you've just read, please email me, brian_177, at [email protected] Playing Your Tournament Match: Before we go any further, it's important that you know exactly how the CW brackets work. Firstly, for those of you who played in our BFME1 tournaments, the colour system is gone. There is no longer a "grey player" or "dark grey player". With that aside, the brackets look very nice and it's obvious who you are playing, so when we say "Player On Top" we mean the name of the player who happens to have been put on top in the MATCH... not the brackets. The brackets, again, are organized into many, many, pairs. If you are on the top of your match, you are known as the "Top Player". If you're on the bottom you're known as the "Bottom Player". If you have ANY questions or comments on what you've just read, please email me, brian_177, at [email protected] If You Are Have a "Bye" Match Congrats! A "Bye" match is a free pass to the next round of the tournament. In the best case scenario we won't have to have any 'bye' matches at all. If we DO need to have them, however, they'll all be in the first round. Don't worry... no one will get any further than the second round with a 'bye'. If you are a 'bye' player you'll still have to report your match so the brackets know to move you forward. Simply find the report 'thing' (for lack of a better word) in the CW brackets and select either the "Win" or "Loss" option. If you have ANY questions or comments on what you've just read, please email me, brian_177, at [email protected] If You Are The TOP Player Congrats, you get to host the match that round. It's just like hosting any other match you've ever played, but there are a few extra things to take into account. First, you are required to make the game in the "Open Play" section of BFME2 Online, in the "Tournament" lobby. Failure to do so will result in disqualification. Second, the name of match MUST be something along the lines of: Rnd1_brian177.vs.Sledge. This means that this match is for the first round, brian177 is hosting, and Sledge is supposed to join. If you name your games like this lots of problems will be avoided. Third, you must use the password provided in the email you received prior to game day. Rules for matches regarding Ring Heroes, CaH, Pop Cap, and tardiness can be seen below in the "Tournament Rules" section. Don't forget to head to the brackets once the outcome of the ROUND (not the game) is decided and report a win/loss. Simply head over to Clanwars.cc log in under the BFME2 league and find the report 'thing' (for lack of a better word) in the CW tournament section under BFME2 now select the current tournament brackets and than select either the "Win" or "Loss" option next to your name. If you have ANY questions or comments on what you've just read, please email me, brian_177, at [email protected] If You Are The BOTTOM Player Congrats, all you have to do is join the game with your password, chose your faction, and "X"-In. If you have ANY questions or comments on what you've just read, please email me, brian_177, at [email protected] Need Help On Game Day? I, brian_177, online name BTT__Admin, will be in the Tournament Lobby Chatroom during all matches on game days. If you have a question please direct it at me. Also, only believe answers that come from me. If it's not me giving you the answer to your question chances are it's the wrong answer. HOPEFULLY there will be another BTT Administrator (like Sledgehammer70) or Moderator in the chat with me to help control the flood. If you have ANY questions or comments on what you've just read, please email me, brian_177, at [email protected] Note: Rule 2 applies to the Tournament Lobby Chat. Game Times and Time Regulations! Every week you will receive a PM within Clanwars.cc letting you know what time you are playing, the map you are playing on, and any other info needed for that week's round to go smoothly. You MUST play at the time specified and you MUST play on the map specified. If you are unable to make it into the game at the time you were given, and wish to reschedule, you must FIRST clear it with me, brian_177, and only then are you allowed to start negotiating with your opponent. Check the forums regularly for updates to maps, rules, and the like... I also post the game info on the forums at the same time I email it, so if you see the info on the forums, but didn't get anything in your email, you should contact me ASAP with your email address so that I can sort it out. If you have ANY questions or comments on what you've just read, please email me, brian_177, at [email protected] Note: If you do need to reschedule, and it happens that your opponent does not want to show up, or is unable to reschedule, the opponent is allowed to continue, and you are not. In the end it comes down to integrity and sportsmanship. Tournament Rules 1.) If you cheat, you're disqualified from all BT Tournaments, in all games, forever (including this one). How do I define "cheat"?... If you have to ask, it's cheating. If you have ANY questions or comments on what you've just read, please email me, brian_177, at [email protected] 2.) Swearing, cussing, cursing, flaming, trash-talking... whatever you want to call it, is strictly prohibited. If your opponent is swearing at you over chat hit F12 and sent me the screenshot. This is the only proof of this rule being broken. If you are the one swearing and are caught, you face the same consequences as Rule 1. If you have ANY questions or comments on what you've just read, please email me, brian_177, at [email protected] 3.) Lag and Desyncs... they happen to us all. If the game goes Out of Sync both players should completely restart their computers (seems over the top, but it's the best thing you can do), and promptly start a new match -- THIS RULE STANDS REGARDLESS OF HOW THE GAME WAS GOING. That's right... you could be down to his last building and get an Out of Sync, and if he demands a rematch due to Out of Sync you must oblige. Lag is another matter. If both players agree that the lag is too bad for the game to be played, restart the game and begin the match again. Restarting due to lag is solely up to you guys... so don't complain to me that "he only won because of lag". If you have ANY questions or comments on what you've just read, please email me, brian_177, at [email protected] 4.) Submitting false win reports is prohibited for obvious reasons. Anyone caught doing this will face the consequences seen in Rule 1. In the event that you accidentally report the wrong outcome email me immediately to avoid confusion and consequences. I understand that accidents happen. If you have ANY questions or comments on what you've just read, please email me, brian_177, at [email protected] 5.) Both players, the winner and loser, are REQUIRED to submit a match report at the brackets at CW. Simply head over to Clanwars.cc log in under the BFME2 league and find the report 'thing' (for lack of a better word) in the CW tournament section under BFME2 now select the current tournament brackets and than select either the "Win" or "Loss" option next to your name. If you have ANY questions or comments on what you've just read, please email me, brian_177, at [email protected] 6.) Any major issues will be resolved by me or one of the other BTT Admins. These decisions are final! To argue with an Admin is a bad thing, so don't do it. I urge that you all remember that you can discuss the issue with us without an argument ensuing. I suggest you use this method of communication. If you have ANY questions or comments on what you've just read, please email me, brian_177, at [email protected] 7.) At least ONE replay must be posted on the forums per round, and only one of the players must post it. I suggest saving all replays from the round and submit the one you think is the best. If you don't post a replay you will be contacted before the next round by me, so make sure you save a replay. If you forget to save the replay by habit, email me telling me this. I'll let it go once, maybe twice, but I expect you to remember after that. Consequences for failing to post a replay vary depending on circumstance. If you have ANY questions or comments on what you've just read, please email me, brian_177, at [email protected] 8.) Connection Issues. Refresh your NAT, Send Delay. This should stop any problems with connections (good old BFME2 connection tool), but in the event that you just won't connect to each other switch places, with the Bottom Player hosting. If you have ANY questions or comments on what you've just read, please email me, brian_177, at [email protected] How to Report a Win and Loss This was touched on a few times earlier, but this explains Reporting in more detail. To report the win and loss you will need to sign-in under Clanwars with your user name, enter the BFME2 League, head over to the Tournament section, and click on the 1v1 Tournament. From here you will see a brackets icon, click on this and find your name. A white box will be by your name. This is where you declare who won and who lost. Both players must report. Failure to do so may result in not being able to participate in future BT Tournaments. If you have ANY questions or comments on what you've just read, please email me, brian_177, at [email protected] Good luck to all of you who take part in this! I'll see you online!
