After the Rings II - Faramir - README.txt

LONG DESCRIPTION:
After the Battle for Middle Earth, Faramir and Eowyn were married. On their 1st anniversary, Faramir took Eowyn to a new resort he had built for her near some large, breathtaking waterfalls which he named Eowyn Falls. But dark forces intervened and attacked the new resort and now Faramir and Eowyn must fight to return to the nearest Gondor settlement which is also under attack. Faramir and Eowyn must survive.

TACTICAL SITUATION:
The resort area that Faramir has build for Eowyb is under assault. Straggler forces of darkness infest the road leading back to the nearest Gondor settlement which is also under assault. Faramir and Eowyn must survive and, with their forces and the allies they may gather along the way, return to the nearest Gondor settlement and make their way to the Keep there.

HINTS:
There are sufficient forces to be found and created if you can hold the buildings and raise the money. There are also many forces of darkness that will attempt to prevent you from returning to Giondor.

OBJECTIVES:
Destroy all enemy camps and forces and drive Mordor and Isengard forces away from Gondor and Faramir's new resort.

INSTALLATION:
Unzip the attached files. They include the following files:

After the Rings II - Faramir.map - The map itself for LOTR-BFME
After the Rings II - Faramir.tga - The small description map seen in the game as it loads.
After the Rings II - Faramir_pic.tga - In game picture while loading map.
After the Rings II - README.txt - This file
Map.ini - Initialization file for customizing this map
map.str - Contains more detailed Map Info that pops up at the start of the game.
AftertheRingsII-FaramirlInfo.doc - A Word document with basic info about the map.

They will unzip into a directory called "After the Rings II - Faramir". Once you have placed this directory onto your computer, for example in the "My Documents" folder, you then must copy or move this folder to the proper location before it will work in the game. If you know the proper loaction, then you can unzip it directly there and avoid the next step.

To move or copy the files to their proper place on your system, use Windows Explorer and move or copy the folder to the the "Maps" folder in the "My battle for Middle-earth" folder which is in the "Application Data" folder under the user name you use on the comuter. The "My battle for Middle-earth" folder is located in the following location:

[Main Drive] (Usually C):\Documents and Settings\[user name]\Application Data\

So the full path would look like this on my computer:

C:\Documents and Settings\Jeff Head\Application Data\My Battle for Middle-earth file\Maps\After the Rings II - Faramir

PLAYING THE MAP:
For Skirmish mode, once the files are in the right place, simply enter SOLO Mode and Skirmish and then pick the User Made Map, "After the Rings II - Faramir". The map was made for the following set up:

Player 1 - Gondor - You - Lower right of the map
Player 2 - To the north of the Rersort. Any Isengard or MOrdor Hard Player.
Player 3 - To the east of Player 2. Any Isengard or MOrdor Hard Player.
Player 4 - To the northwest of Player 3. Any Isengard or MOrdor Hard Player.
Player 5 - To the southeast of Player 4. Any Isengard or MOrdor Hard Player.
Player 6 - To the southeast of Player 5. Any Isengard or MOrdor Hard Player.
Player 7 - To the south of Gondor. Any Isengard or MOrdor Hard Player.

For Multiplayer Mode: Although this map could be played as a multiplayer, it was specifically designed as a single player quest map and it is highly recommended that the user play in skirmish mode with the setup locations identified in the README file that came with the map. Many, many scripts depend on this and they will cause a severe imbalance in a multiplayer mode.
