We have the latest news release from the Battlefield 1861 mod. Check it out,
[quote]After suggestions from the community that it would be a good idea for the Battlefield 1861 (American Civil War) mod to have its own website, the team has responded by developing one, which is now live! You can check it out at: http://www.1861mod.com
As always, we'd be delighted to receive any feedback or comments you might have! It is our hope that the new site will provide up-to-the-minute information about current developments on the mod, as well as information on the weapons, maps and character classes that players will encounter.
Some of you may wonder what has happened to the mod after our initial 0.1 and 0.11 releases - well, the truth is that Battlefield 1861 is far from dead! The project began life as a sideline for founder Megaraptor's modding work (he is dev team leader for the Who Dares Wins mod too!), and was generally well-received by the community given its WIP status.
Since then, Megaraptor has been devoting the majority of his time to working on Who Dares Wins, and has taken on more of an advisory role for the BF1861 project - the torch of team leadership has been passed to Soujiro, who is working hard on an upcoming release (0.2), which will feature many improvements over the original releases, including a revamped HUD, new loading screens, and many enhancements to models, audio, skins and coding.
As always, talented skinners, modellers, mappers etc. are more than welcome to apply for positions on the team - if you feel you have what it takes to work in game modding, then we'd love to hear from you!
