EA has released the September Edition of the "Battlefield Newsletter" with an exclusive Pirates interview. This is a comprehensive interview covering the entire Pirates mod and it's future. Read on,
There’s a HOT Mod sweeping the Battlefield 1942™ Community. It’s called, Battlefield Pirates. Plain and simple, its Battlefield 1942 turned back a few hundred years. Soldiers have been replaced by Skeletons and Pirates. Aircraft Carriers replaced by Brigantines and the assault rifle replaced by the Musket. When presented with the opportunity to interview the Mods creator, Captain Guy Smiley, we jumped at the chance to talk with him. Here’s how that went. EA GAMES: Captain, tell us a bit about yourself and what drove you to begin working on such a crazy idea for a Mod. Captain: Basically, I'm a game artist by trade. When my last contract ended, I was looking for a better way to present my portfolio. At about the same time I discovered that you could mod BF42, so that combined with my love of "fighting sail" games resulted in me wanting to do a pirate mod. I also wanted to do something completely different than all the other mods that were coming out at the time, something that was a little more geared towards fun and wackiness rather than trying to faithfully recreate this or that war. The result is Battlefield: Pirates.
WOW!!! That's a very nice interview. In case any of you are wondering, GET PIRATES NOW!! It's an awesome mod and EA is spreading the word! You can read the rest of the interview here
