Battlefield 1942 Extended is a mod that hopes to breath of fresh air into battlefield by adding things to freshen up game play or visuals. Most of all I do not want to incorporate user created work, because I want this to feel as if DICE made it. So people can enjoy that official feel and security (hey I know some people prefer it)
To install: - extract the Battlefield_1942_Extended file into your battlefield 1942 directory's mod folder, which is you installed to it's default location should be something like C:/Program Files/EA GAMES/Battlefield 1942/mods/ - if you want to create a shortcut on your desktop, make a copy of your battlefield 1942 shortcut, place it on your desktop. right click on it, then click on properties. under target put \"C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\Battlefield 1942\BF1942.exe\" +gamepath Battlefield_1942_Extended (this includes qoutation marks) you can then use the icon i have provided. (in the mod files) ---------------------------------------- Features in v1.0 - MG42 now has a smoke effect (extracted from b17 muzzle files) for realism - random shell ejection effect implemented on all weapons. - stg44 clip enlarged for realism - bar1918 viewsight flipped up (for possible iron sights later on) - added voice commands that were removed by dice in bf1942's early stages (high and medium sound detail.) - control points now require 2+ teammates to capture. - bf1942 match map pack added (endorsed as official release) - added some artsy kindof details (in game maps are desaturated for \"war\" feel, and so they're less distracting) Possible future additions: - i would like to add hedgerows on bocage using the dice bushes (making some of my own would violate the mod philosophy) - for that \"enemy at the gates\" feel i would like to add a trio of JU88 bombers (DICE versions) to fly over in triangle formation on stalingrad - iron sights would be cool ( i would keep the crosshairs) - if i could get an animator to do some small weapon animations, it would be sweet. but i'm not holding my breath ---------------------------------------- SPECIAL THANKS: Bratwurst (of the FH forums) for doing some sound coding for me knuckles - my cat.. for being who he is. ---------------------------------------- questions or comments -> [email protected] All work for the match map pack is of their respectful owners.
