This is release 1.2 of Battlegroup42 and requires release 1.0 
to be already installed. It is intended for Battlefield 1942
version 1.6. It replaces release 1.1.

EXE install - select \Battlefield 1942\ folder
Zip install - unzip to \Battlefield 1942\Mods\ folder

The Battlegroup42 mod is designed for all game modes: 
Multiplayer: Conquest, Capture the Flag (CTF) and Team Deathmatch (TDM)
SinglePlayer: Coop, Campaign, and Instant Battle.

It will be activated automatically when connecting to an 
online BG42 server. To run in singleplayer or start a server, 
go into Custom Game, select BattleGroup42 and click Activate.
To run directly make a shortcut (or copy the one for standard
BF1942) and set the 'Target' as follows (changing as appropriate 
for your install folder):

"C:\Program Files\EA Games\Battlefield 1942\BF1942.exe" +game Battlegroup42

and use ChangeIcon to point it at the BG42icon in the Battlegroup42 
folder.


1.2 Change List
===============

Release 1.2 provides new maps and a readjustments of some changes introduced in 1.1. It also addresses as many long-standing BG42 known issues as well as significant map re-balancing to several maps. There is a small amount of new content in this build as well.

16 additional maps (9 new maps, 2 modified old maps and 4 conversions from the EA Match Map Pack) thanks to the efforts of Clan MOB's mapping group:

Limited single player support exists for the following maps from the EA Match Map Pack which requires the installation of EA's Match Map Pack BF1942 maps in order to load. If you do not have the Match Map Pack maps installed, you will experience Crash-To-Desktop (CTD) errors upon map load of these maps. The Match Map Pack can be downloaded from EA at: http://www.fileplanet.com/dl.aspx?/planetbattlefield/bf1942_match_mappack_v1.0.exe

Anguar:
	- Added Destroyer
	- Carrier is now the Enterprise, with Corsairs instead of Wildcats

Alps:
	- Adjusted bleed
	- Removed PAK AT gun at first flag

Battle of Korsun:
	- removed German spawns from outpost on Russian side (known problem: although this
	  is a grey flag, it is selectable as a spawn for Germans. Nevertheless, you can not
          spawn here unless flag has turned to Germans.

Debrecen:
	- Added Heavy Tanks reinforcements for both sides when forward bases are captured
          in order to assist in break-out
        - Removed Parachutes
        - Added Jeeps to middle bases when Russian base is captured by Germans

Dnieper River: 
	- Eliminated parachutes
	- Added DVSS conditional heavy tanks to aid either side in breakout
	- Added jeeps when rearmost Russian base is captured 
	- Eliminated German armor from spawning at rearmost Russian base

Liberation of Caen:
        - Added an ammo box to the bridge CP
        - Adjusted DVSS to help the allied break out
        - Adjusted DVSS for additional British firepower when Germans have all flags
        - Added AT guns or artillery placement for paratrooper defense

Market Garden:
	- Added Ostwind to Market Garden
	- Added of infantry rafts on German side
	- Added Artillery on windmill hill, overlooking bunker area on far side of main bridge
	- DVSS conditional stronger tanks for Allies
	- Removed FLAK36 gun by church

Nancy: 
	- Balancing to even out Allied deficencies
	- Tarp eliminated over Allied M12GMC moved due to interference

Omaha Day 1:
	- Removed Anti-Tank Guns (Historical Accuracy adjustment)
	- Made midfield flags capturable by both sides
	- Adjusted midfield flag locations
	- Allied forces may not use Kubelwagons

Operation Battleaxe:
        - Adjusted DVSS so that tanks are available when entire midfield is captured 
          by opposing team 

Operation Crusader:

Operation Mercury:

	- Readjusted ticket bleed

Stalingrad:
        - DVSS conditional spawn of two tanks and APCs instead of one each for team NOT holding
          the middle flag.

The Swamp:
	- Adjusted ticket bleed

Villers-Bocage:
        - Updated map layout to include multiple entry points for Axis
        - Added two kubelwagons when bases closet to Axis base are captured
	- Adjusted British base AT gun to permit firing on bridge





1.1 Change List
===============

Release 1.1 provides new maps and other content, plus there are significant changes to the 6 class system. In particular the classes have been rebalanced with changes to the anti-tank rifles, AT grenades, and deployable MGs.

Infantry changes:
-----------------
Rifleman has zoom.
Rifles (scoped and unscoped) now have deviation so no more sniping on the run.
Anti-tank weapons now have large devations. Aiming is quicker when kneeling or laying prone.
AT class now has a pistol for their sidearm. 
Pistol damage increased at close range.
US engineer on Omaha Day 1 has bangalores in place of ex packs
PPSH toned down

Gameplay changes:
-----------------
Flyable gliders on Pegasus Bridge in conquest mode.
Bangalore torpedoes are able to destroy the barbed wire on Omaha Day 1.
Parachutes removed in Pegasus and Battle of Britain
Tank sound volumes reduced
11kHz and 22kHz sounds improved
Nancy now works online (could only be played offline in 1.0)
Tank turret speeds have been given historically proportional speeds (i.e., Tiger is slower than Panther G and so on)
Some vehicle speeds reduced (e.g. Puma and M8 Greyhound armoured cars)
Improved Realplayer AI
TO-34 flamethrowing tank added to Berlin Streets


Standard Features
=================

To those new to Battlegroup42, here are some tips:

1) APCs are crucial to teamwork - they repair tanks and other 
vehicles as well as giving health and ammo. The APC driver
has a mouselook ability, and can even look round to see his 
teammates in the back (good clan screenshots welcomed!). There
are extra APCs added to most of the original maps, and they
stay around for longer (so you can use them as mobile supply
points).
2) Light tanks like the Panzer II, M3Stuart and StuartI can
spot for artillery (right-click in position 2).
3) The King Tiger can fire smoke grenades to conceal itself
(right-click in position 2).
4) The FlaK36 ('88') is dual fire - left-click against aircraft
and right-click against tanks.
5) Mobile artillery is fully operated by one player
(e.g. British Bishop and German Bison) and can be turned to 
a new direction even while in the artillery view.
6) There is a lot of fixed artillery so make use of it. Howitzers
and field guns like the US M2A1 Howitzer, German sIG33 and
Russian ZIS-3 have right-click artillery view; anti-tank guns
like the ZIS-2AT, 6pdr and M5AT do not.


Known Bugs and Issues:
The PIAT reload animation has no projectile

RELEASE 0.98

This is Beta Release 0.98 of BattleGroup42. It requires 0.9 to
already be installed, and can upgrade to 0.98 from 0.9, 0.95 or 0.96.
It is intended for Battlefield 1942 version 1.6, and is primarily
concerned with incorporating DICE's 1.6 content into BG42. It does,
however, include some significant gameplay changes and new content.

Small-arms: Bren LMG for British and Canadian assault classes (Canadians have same equipment as British)
Johnson LMG for US Marines on GavutuIsland (the only occasion when the Johnson saw any significant combat service)

Vehicles: Sexton artillery (with Bren AAMG), Lynx (with Bren for
passenger), Dingo (British version of Lynx), Kettenkrad (without MG
as it never had one) and Pak40. All vehicles now have historically correct armour values (and projectiles, where appropriate).

Gameplay Changes
----------------

Vehicles: all vehicles now have correct weight, tanks now have correct relative historical turret traverse times (2/3 of real-life values), CrusaderIII has twin Lewis AA MGs
Zoom: Heavy tanks increased from 10% to 15%; tank destroyers and anti-tank guns increased from 10% to 30% (e.g. Jagdpanther, SU-85, SU-100, etc.); 10% zoom given to assault guns (SU-122, StuGIII)
Small-arms: British AT now has Auto5 shotgun (Engineer reverts to No4)
Artillery spotting: added to Lynx, Dingo, StaghoundIII and Puma
General: reduced damage from aircraft to vehicles (to cut down on 'kamikaze' tactics), improved handling on vehicles and aircraft, bombloads on aircraft, moved paraspawn on OMG (to stop roof landing).

King Tiger has real engine sounds, exhaust smoke effect, and increased duration on smoke grenades
Reduced in-aircraft sound volumes
SturmgeschutzIII has added Schuerzen (skirt) armour plates

Gameplay changes:
All tanks and anti-tank guns now have a fixed (low-power) zoom
Heavy tanks have gunsights
APCs have lowered MG positions and use ironsights
Jagdpanther tank destroyer has high-powered (x2.5) zoom in second, gunner's position
Infantry small-arms, MGs and bazookas have increased damage
Aircraft power has been rebalanced
Tank projectiles have reduced damage against armour greater than they could penetrate in real life
