I chose this setting because I wanted to make a tight, fast map like Berlin or Stalingrad and the idea of the canals and bridges created some interesting avenues of attack and choke points for pitched battles. The setting is that the Germans are in garrison in the city and the Allies start out on a farm in the countryside. The two armies fight to control key areas of the city, the three most strategically important control points have a higher point value and are therefore important to capture and hold.

Install insrtuctions: Just double click the DC Liberation of Harlingen.exe file. No other files needed.
**Note:** Default location is set to C:\Program files. So if your game is not installed to C: 
then browse to your specific install location. 

To uninstall: go to _:\___\EA GAMES\Battlefield 1942\Mods\DC_Final\Archives\BF1942\levels
& delete the DC_Liberation_of_Harlingen.rfa

**Known issues:When picking up the MP5 you'll drop your previous weapon in the water & prob won't
get it back, so be sure you really want that MP5.

Both CAR-15 & VSS for Spec-ops.  Mortar for support.

history:

This map was created to represent the fall of German occupied Harlingen, Holland, by 
Canadian troops, on the march to liberate Amsterdam.  The town fell to the Canadians 
on 5 May 1945.  Although this battle was a minor battle compared to the fighting 
taking place inside Germany by Patton and the Russian army, every battle is major to
the soldiers involved in the fighting.  During my research on the battle I found little 
usable information on this battle as far as loadout and vehicles however, the city is 
mapped to be an accurate, if out of scale representation of the actual city.

4.Objectives:

Liberation of Harlingen This is a conquest:assault map.  Your team will win if you
cause your opponent's tickets to reach zero.  The Germans are in a garrison in the city
and the Allies start out on a farm in the countryside.  The two armies fight to control
key areas of the city, the three most strategically important control points have a 
higher point value and are therefore important to capture and hold.  These control points
are Central Park, The Church, and The Shipyard.
