What can ya say, Coyote Pete's a Battlefield workhorse sending in another great skin. Yak-9s everywhere are celebrating.
It's a combination of Yak-3 camouflage and some stuff of my own creativity. The text on the right side translates as "For the Fatherland!", and yes it is grammatically correct Russian. And for the chrome weenies, the white areas are mildly shiny.
Yakovlev Yak-9 "For the Fatherland" Textures for Battlefield 1942 by CoyotePete~tfr. I've had this file lying around unfinished for some time now, and decided to finish it and release it. Basically, it's a combination of various features from Yak-3s and Yak-9s. It has a gray, Yak-3 style camouflage. The number designs are my inventions, as well as the white Hammer and Sickle pic on each side of the nose. The white areas have a mild degree of chroming, since you people can't seem to get enough of that annoying shiny stuff. The pilot's aircraft kills can be seen on the left side of the fuselage, and the text on the right translates as "For the Fatherland!" (Yes, I do know a bit of Russian and the text is correct). Also, my creativity is starting to run out so if you send me a request, and the skin gods accept it, it'll become my next project. IMPORTANT NOTE: This is the first skin I've done without an important note. INSTALLATION: Simply put the "Texture_035Yak9.rfa" file into your "C:\Whatever your BF1942 directory is\Archives" folder. Please note that you can only have one set of Yak-9 textures installed, so if you had other custom textures for it previously, you will have to uninstall them before using these. IMPORTANT BUG NOTICE: If you install these textures and then notice that everything has gone white ingame, then simply change the "035" in "Texture_035Yak9.rfa" to another 3 digit number. CREDITS: Again, to Ryan Foss. I am going to make a shrine for the MakeRFA utility. To Bf1942files.com, for putting up with my e-mails and hosting my files. LEGAL STUFFS: Everything in this file is FREEWARE. You may NOT charge anyone for the use or download of these textures. You can use and modify any part of these textures as long as you send me an email (info below) about it, you credit me for the textures if you release the modified ones, and you do not charge anyone for use or download of the textures.
