This modification emphasises the infantry combat in Battlefield 1942 by making changes to the original maps to focus the players on team tactics, cover fire etc and generally aims to move the game away from tank based fighting. The defensive machine guns become crucial, as do bunkers, medics, mines etc like never before. The bots also seem well suited to it. I hope you enjoy it.

Battlefield 1942 Mod - Infantry Gameplay Pack

Designed for and tested with Battlefield 1942 v1.3 Road To Rome

This mod supports the gameplay modes for the original maps, Conquest, CTF etc. including single player/co-op with bots.

This modification emphasises the infantry combat in Battlefield 1942 by making changes to the original maps to 
focus the players on team tactics, cover fire etc and generally aims to move the game away from tank based fighting. 
The defensive machine guns become crucial, as do bunkers, medics, mines etc like never before.
The bots also seem well suited to it.
I hope you enjoy it.


Map List and Changes
--------------------

Anzio - 	All light and heavy tanks removed.
		Infantry transport added - jeeps and 2 APC's for each side.
		Scout class removed and replaced with engineer for both sides.
		Aircraft total number and spawn rate reduced - they're precious, be careful with them. 

Baytown -	All light and heavy tanks removed.
		Infantry transport added - jeeps and 2 APC's for each side.
		Scout class removed and replaced with engineer for both sides.
		Aircraft number and spawn rate reduced. 


Cassino - 	All French light and heavy tanks removed.
		French artillery removed.
		French infantry transport added.
		German vehicles removed - Hint to Germans, you're free to place plenty of mines.
		4 out of 6 Anti-Tank guns replaced with MG42 machine guns.
		Scout class removed and replaced with engineer.

Husky - 	Battleship removed.
		Scout class removed and replaced with engineer.
		All light and heavy tanks removed.
		Heavy bomber replaced with Stuka. Spawn rate reduced.
		Artillery replaced with APCs.
		Various APCs and jeeps added for transport.
		Landing craft added for beach assualt.
		More air spawn points added for Allies.

Salerno - 	All light and heavy tanks removed.
		Artillery Removed.
		Scout class removed and replaced with engineer.
		APC's added at repair stations.
		Jeeps and APCs added for infantry transport.
		Aircraft reduced to 1 per side. Spawn rate reduced.

Santo Croce -	Level bombers removed.
		All light and heavy tanks removed excluding 2 light tanks on top of the hill.
		Artillery removed.
		APC and Jeeps added for troop transport.
		Fighter spawn rate reduced.
		Scout class removed and replaced with Engineer.
		Jeeps at capture points replaced with APCs.
		

Installation + Play
-------------------

The files:

anzio-infantry.rfa 
baytown-infantry.rfa
cassino-infantry.rfa
salerno-infantry.rfa
husky-infantry.rfa
santo_croce-infantry.rfa

go in your .../Battlefield 1942/Mods/XPack1/Archives/BF1942/Levels folder

To play, simply load the game and select the scenario from the menu just as you would with the standard maps. 
The original maps are not affected in any way and can be played as normal.


Uninstallation
--------------

Simply delete the files you installed (see above).
