File Description: - This skin represents the a/c flown by Major Clarence E. "Bud" Anderson, during the Summer/Autumn of 1944. - Bud is a WWII triple Ace who flew a P-51 Mustang, "Old Crow", while assigned to the 357th Fighter Group, commonly referred to as the "Yoxford Boys", of the 8th Air Force out of Leiston Field, United Kingdom. The 357th Fighter Group was credited with shooting down 609 1/2 enemy aircraft in only 15 months, a pace no other fighter group equaled. The 357th also produced 42 Aces (pilots with five of more victories in the air), more than any other group. Bud was the leading Ace of the 363rd Fighter Squadron with 16 1/4 victories. At 80, Bud still flies a P-51, restored exactly as his "Old Crow", at air shows and other events, with lifelong friend and fellow 363rd Fighter Squadron member, General Charles E. "Chuck" Yeager.
Notes: - The original serial number on the tail was 414450, but I had to change it due to a mirror effect... - This skin features some new elements not found in my other skins (or any other skins for that matter)...there are a lot of small details there, so be sure to give it a thourough walk-around ;) - This is as historically accurate as they come, and in my opinion one of my best skins (certainly was the funnest to work on :) ), so enjoy!
