WHAT IT DOES: This mod allows you to use custom skins for vehicles, soldiers, terrain and objects on Desert Combat maps! Similar to the Merciless mod for BF1942, this mod allows you to "drag and drop" .dds texture files into folders for individual maps, allowing you to change the skins on a map-by-map basis. No more unpacking and packing texture.rfa files!

TO INSTALL:  Copy the "DCTextures" folder (containing the 22 map subfolders) to your MAIN Battlefield 1942 DIRECTORY!
(By default, that would be C:\Program Files\EA Games\Battlefield 1942).  Then, place the .rfa files into your Mods\DesertCombat\Archives\bf1942\levels folder (where all your maps go).  These small RFA files instruct the game to look in the map subfolders in the DCTextures folder and use any textures found there.

To add new skins, simply drop the .dds files for that skin in whatever map subfolder (in the DCTextures folder) you wish to use them on.  You'll notice that some subfolders (such as Battle_of_the_Bulge) already contain certain skins (such as my Summer Bulge terrain and DOM_Spyd3r's woodland camo).


I have placed the woodland Camo files in seperate folders, clearly stating which vehicle they edit. Each folder contains a set of DDS files which you place in the map folder where you would like the skin to appear. 

FOR EXAMPLE:

If you would like to have a forest M1A1 Abrams tank in Market Garden...Simply locate the Forest M1A1 folder, copy all its contents, and paste them into the Market Garden folder.
	

Forest Camouflage works best in these levels:

-Kharkov/Kharkov Day2
-Bocage/Bocage Day2/Bocage Day3
-Kursk (LOOKS AMAZING!!!!)
-Market Garden
-Battle of the Bulge (OF COURSE!) :)

I recommend only using the vehicle forest skins on Midway, Guadalcanal, Iwo Jima, Omaha Beach and Wake.

TO UNINSTALL:  If you no longer wish to use a particular skin, simply remove the corresponding .dds files from the appropriate map subfolder inside DCTextures.  If you want to remove the DCTextures mod itself (why?!?), just delete the DCTextures folder and the .rfa files included in this package (the ones that end in _705.rfa).
