This is a Forgotten Hope conversion of my map 'The Gauntlet'.  It's the same premise, sink the carrier, but with a difference.  The teams have been swapped around - the Japanese are on the defensive, and must protect their carrier.  US Marines fly their aircraft from the land bases and have to destroy the carrier ASAP.

Ticket bleed has been removed from this map because it was a bit too tricky to win as the USMC.  However, they also lose the advantage of numbers now - both teams start with the same amount of tickets.  They'll need to utilise their Corsairs and P-47s to sweep the skies of Zeros, while the P-38s and B-25s lay down the law with heavy explosives.  The Corsairs and P-47s also get bombs to aid in blowing the Japanese carrier out of the water.

Japanese pilots have nothing but Zeros and the carrier's AA at their disposal, and must protect it at all costs - failure to do so means them losing as soon as the carrier goes down.  The bots will occupy two of the four AA emplacements in Coop mode, to aid in defending the carrier (though they're not quite as deadly as the vanilla BF42 version, sadly).


Move 'The_Gauntlet.rfa' to your levels directory, in my case:

C: -> Program Files -> EA Games -> Battlefield 1942 -> Mods -> FH -> Archives -> bf1942 -> levels

For uninstalling, just delete the RFA file.  Simple.


The same old bit that's been in all my readmes.  If you're reading this: o hai!  You're awesome, because you take the time to actually READ THE README.  Anyway...

You can give it out to your friends, edit it, or make new maps based on it but just don't take credit for stuff you didn't do.  I wouldn't appreciate that.

Distribute this file around as many websites as you like, but keep this readme with the map.  Any version that is edited/modified (e.g. adding another vehicle or something) should be clearly noted so.

If this busts your computer in any way, I'm not responsible.  Sorry, but it was your decision to install it.
