"Battlefield 2" video. I do not want to give away too much, but I will say it was awesome!
Hello! Thought I’d include a little Notepad file to explain that this is my very first attempt at machinima and non-linear editing. The game utilised is Battlefield 2 (of course) and to create the film I used the BF Recorder in conjunction with the full version of Fraps. The NLE software was Adobe Premiere Pro 1.5 which, aside from capturing some home movie footage, I’d never before used. I made this little parody, in part, to learn the basics of Premiere Pro but more because I’m a big fan of both Battlefield 2 and the community it has generated. I’ve downloaded and enjoyed something in the order of 20GB worth of BF2 machinima and ever since viewing the community’s first offerings, I’ve wanted to make some videos of my own. This first attempt was very much a practice run and a great learning experience but the ideas I have in mind for future projects are more ambitious and will involve a lot more studying and experimentation before they can be realised. “Khalid’s Surprise” was about 9-10 days in the making and if you do enjoy it, please recommend it to anyone else you think might enjoy it, too. Also, feel free to post the download link on sites and forums where you feel the project might be appreciated. I’m really no good at self-promotion, so I’m always grateful for people’s help. Finally, the greatest feeling for anyone who creates something — especially when it’s intended for the enjoyment of others — is to receive feedback and to learn the thoughts of those kind enough to view your work. I value everyone’s opinion, so please don’t hesitate to send me an e-mail. Yours Sincerely, John-Paul firstname.lastname@example.org P.S. The video was encoded with Xvid, so if you don't have the codec installed, this is the place to go: http://www.xvid.org/downloads.html
