Here's a BF2 custom map by BierPizzaChips. It has desert styled islands with plenty of places to explore. Read the ReadMe in the zip archive for more details.
============================================== This map is an update of the previously here posted map 'Melbourne'. Change log: ----------- - two new Single-Player combat areas, - all three Single-Player combat areas supported as COOP, - terrain changed to offer new routes for soldiers, - coasts modified to ease bots to enter ground at inner seas, - cliffs near roads smoothed to minimze the BF2 snooze effect, - sky more foggy and added windy sound to create sandstorm ambiente, - main texture changed to sand, - changed water color, - replaced pines with palms, - US soldiers do not wear green kits anymore, - new town and village of ruins introduced as strategic areas, - build mountains to ease bots pathfinding, - lowered terrain to match to navmesh to ensure that bots do not stop their vehicles and wait for whatever, - modified ai settings of each mode to make bots more aggressivly explore the combat area. - object's lightmaps now in high resolution and DXT5, - inner seas are NOT transparent to fords and surfs. Description: ------------ Desert styled island with lakes. US has more helicopter, MEC has more AA. Single Player & CO-OP modus are supported with three different(!) combat areas each. Installation: ------------- Based on feedback at bfeditor.org this Update includes a Self-Installer. Just double click the file Melbourne_CO-OP.exe.
