The multiplayer demo for Bet on Soldier is finally here.
Description by Killer Kyle:
This demo allows you to enjoy the multiplayer aspect of Bet On Soldier. The demo includes one map MP_CargoBay_Exo and one game mode (BoS) where 2 teams try to earn tickets and bet on an opposing team's player to earn money for both themselves and their team. BoS multiplayer also has 6 character classes, like what you would see in Return To Castle Wolfenstein and Enemy Territory, each of which have strengths and weaknesses of their own. Overall, the mulitplayer looks to be pretty good.
EDIT: I will be adding screenshots soon. :) EDIT2: Having trouble taking screenshots, so they may not come or they may come later. I'll try to get them before the week is out.
---------------------------------------------- Bet On Soldier Multiplayer Demo : game hosting ---------------------------------------------- Want to host a game? Important rules: BOS is using UDP port : 3506 So port 3506 must be open (both in and out) on your firewall and/or router. GameSpy is using the following TCP ports: * 6667 (IRC) * 3783 (Voice Chat Port) * 27900 (Master Server UDP Heartbeat) * 28900 (Master Server List Request) * 29900 (GP Connection Manager) * 29901 (GP Search Manager) * 13139 (Custom UDP Pings) * 6515 (Dplay UDP) * 6500 (Query Port) Check that these ports are opened properly. Warning: Some antiviruses softwares might provide firewall facility. --------------------------------------------------------------------- Want to scan the internet or Local Area Network but BOS is stalled ? --------------------------------------------------------------------- Check that no firewall alert pop-up has opened in the background. This window may not be visible while in fullscreen mode. You can check the desktop content by pressing Alt+TAB and switch to pop-up if any (you can then Alt+TAB back to BOS) --------------------------------------------------------------------- Server Hosting --------------------------------------------------------------------- If you create a dedicated server, remember that your guests' gaming experience will greatly depend on your server performances. Try to avoid alternate downloads or other programs running in the background, to keep your bandwidth as large as possible. Morevover, in case of a non-dedicated server, smoothest gameplay can be achieved by reducing server graphical options: - lower texture quality - lower screen resolution (800*600) - shadow disabled (shadow option set to none)
