Hi All, This is "Not" Bridge Commander related, but I wanted to spread the news about this little known "Work In Progress" freeware mod of Battlestar Galactica_R for Freespace 2. A "Very" impressive effort. . . From what I saw of the video, It's one of the most convincing efforts I've ever seen! The models are of "HIGH" quality, and you will even get to see a reinvisioned Cylon Basestar model. Until I saw this video, I didn't know one existed. Looks like a complete recreation of the series's fluid battle scenes. The best thing about this BSG_R mod, is that you don't need the Freespace game to play this mod. From what I've read in the forums, the controls and handeling for Freespace 2 have been re-designed. One of the drawbacks to the Freespace series was the clumsy controls. Since Freespace 2 is now an "Open Source". All one has too do is download the mod once released. I would not have felt right, If I didn't share this info with our "Die Hard" Battlestar Galactica fans here at BCfiles. * * Original Freespace 2 System Requirements * * * 200 MHZ Pentium * Microsoft Windows 95, 98 or NT * 32MB RAM * 250 MB Hard Disk Space * 8x or faster CD-ROM Drive * 3-D graphics accelerator (Supports Glide or D3D) * DirectSound compatible sound card * 100% Microsoft compatible mouse (joystick recommended) * TCP/IP over LAN or Internet for Multiplayer Option System Requirements WINDOWS Minimum Recommended Specifications: Computer: 100% DirectX 8.1 compatible computer Operating System: Windows® 98SE/ME/2000/XP CPU: Pentium® 1 GHz or AMD Athlon 800 MHz processor Memory: 512 MB RAM Graphics Card: 64 MB NVIDIA® GeForce 3, ATI Radeon Hardware T&L card or other OpenGL compatible video card Sound Card: Windows® 98/2000/XP-compatible sound card Input Device: Windows® compatible mouse and keyboard OpenAL: OpenAL is a cross-platform 3D audio API appropriate for use with gaming applications and many other types of audio applications.
