None of the above.. she was a good character.. atleast after season 1.. she was annoying at first no doubt.. but they all were really. :)

#2 - Posted by: Vouhaul (Member) on 11-01-2008 at 11:52

All of them.

#3 - Posted by: Saquist (Member) on 11-01-2008 at 12:13

First Contact. Drunk Deana was a dumb idea.

#4 - Posted by: lukerobin (Member) on 11-01-2008 at 14:12

Generations. She crashed the ENT-D into a planet.

 #5 - Posted by: MikeA31 (Member) on 11-01-2008 at 18:45

See now, I thought Deanna drunk was funny as hell. :)

lol, drunk deanna was great!

#7 - Judge her not too harshly... - Posted by: Corrigious (Member) on 11-01-2008 at 22:31

As mentioned in previous polls, story structure and character development of the TNG era films were largely considered flawed by the Bridge Commander community. Deanna, with regards to the destruction of the Enterprise D, had few, if any options at her disposal. I doubt any of her critics could have performed better at her post, honestly.

I have to agree with #7 in regard to people blaming Deanna for "Crashing the Enterprise D into a planet", All she actually did was begin to move away from the secondary hull, Which then exploded rendering the helm controls offline. The Shockwave was the cause for the Enterprise crashing. As for the poll, i don't think i will vote this time around, I didn't find her annoying in any of the Movies. -Lint

Drunk Deanna was great. "Wha wuz I s'ying?" Fantastic!

#11 - Posted by: Saquist (Member) on 11-02-2008 at 11:04

Drunk anything must be fantastic....as well as lame. It's horrible what we have to do to make a character intresting. BUT NO...the stupidity of the joke relating Deana with crashing starships is boring. " Lauchpad McQuack had a saying....Any landing you can walk away from is a good one. She survived in extreme situations and likely saved a lot of lives. Hazing the character is just juvenile.

I can't choose any of them either I thought she was a good character along with her flaws, don't really care for the choices in this poll.

#13 - Posted by: FourChan (Member) on 11-02-2008 at 14:21

Keep Deanna away from Starships Please.

 #14 - Posted by: Commander_One (Member) on 11-02-2008 at 17:38

I'm just glad they actually used her powers in Nemesis. There are too many times I feel that writers left out or forgot about her "unique abilities". There have been many instances where they could have been used but weren't over the years.

#15 - Posted by: CaptJono (Member) on 11-02-2008 at 18:11

@ 14 - Agreed. I'm going to abstain from this poll, I found her more annoying in Season 1 than I did in any of the movies.

 #16 - Posted by: MikeA31 (Member) on 11-02-2008 at 19:43

Saquist.. you need to lighten up! The characters didn't have to be prim and proper at all times! Worf drank his weight in bloodwine, was that stupid? Scotty was hammered half the time on scotch, did that make his character lame? Just more realistic, imo.

#17 - Posted by: Dalekium (Member) on 11-03-2008 at 08:19

It wasn't Deanna's fault entirely when she got drunked. FC was about the Borg kick ass again. Borg=death which = unhappiness which=need for some humour. You can't have a whole film killing things as you right fully pointed out Saquist. But you have yo have an element that makes you think back something funny, not the death.

 #18 - irritating - Posted by: Starforce_2 (Member) on 11-03-2008 at 10:22

I don't know about irritating, so I put insurrection. The drunk stuff, while funny, was a bit annoying. However, Troy is often more useless than anything. STX was the first time we actualy got to see her use her abilities and fight back. We see her abilities often as a weakness otherwise, being victimised, which is rather a diss on women by the show itself.

#19 - Posted by: Saquist (Member) on 11-03-2008 at 10:35

MikeA31, It's military. There should be a proper amount of decorum on a mission. FC completely ignored the Temporal Prime Directive on this episode and drinking on the job is certainly unforgivable for a senior officer. Worf didn't do it on duty. And Scotty did on duty just to slam a Kelvin.

#20 - Posted by: DeadCities (Staff) on 11-03-2008 at 13:20

Given the options, 1. Violate the Temporal Prime Directive, or 2. Save the Human race from extinction/assimilation. There is no choice in my opinion?. I'm sure Starfleet would have overlooked it on this occasion. And also, Starfleet is not a Military organization, And if you also re-watch that scene Deanna didn't know that Tequila was an alcoholic beverage, from what she says it sounds like she had never even heard of it before when she says "Something called Tequila", At diplomatic functions im sure the occasional alcoholic beverage has been thrown back, The officers in attendance would still have been considered "on duty", On Starships all they ever drink is "Synthahol" (as im sure you already know), so it would most likely only take Deanna around 2-3 drinks to become intoxicated in the first place drinking a REAL alcoholic beverage, And im sure it wasn't her intention to become intoxicated, so i see this as completely acceptable, If it was her INTENTION to become intoxicated then it would be a whole different story. -Lint

In Insurrection because she says "I never kissed you with a beard" but actually she did. (Well, I could be a joke of course)

#22 - Posted by: Dalekium (Member) on 11-04-2008 at 08:10

Starfleet - not military The Borg are the Feds worst enemy. It is up to the Feds to do everything possible to sto the Borg affecting them in any way. They are dangerous and I'm sure you would do the same to protect your people.

#23 - oh well - Posted by: Kaynine (Member) on 11-06-2008 at 04:11

I voted for generations, because she was so anoying in nem that I forgot she was even in it. It's best that way.

#24 - Never found Deanna annoying. - Posted by: MJAY (Member) on 11-06-2008 at 15:12

i just wish she used her powers more. She didnt have enough of the story centered around IMO. Maybe another woman with telepathic powers to challenge her, would have been perfect in TNG. A rival. Like how Lore was to Data, only more interesting. Deanna Troi was a potential story that the writers wasted. They could've allowed her powers to expand and grow, similar to Kes' from Voyager, except unlike Kes, find some way of keeping her involved with the plotline. Her developing telekinetic powers would obviously put strain on her marriage with Riker; you name it, yada yada. They could have went many ways with her, but they didnt. Point is she was a wasted character. She wasn't useless. They just didnt use her. So I liked her. Not only cute, but a fine actress. Just wasted is all. Not annoying to me at all.

Nemesis. The pathetic set up mind-rape scene! Gimme a break! She was quite cool in First contact. Drinking with ol' J.
