Description

The DJ Abante Class is a late-24th century design of an advanced science vessel.


This mod has been updated with the changes noted below:


Updated 2023-05-31 by MSR1701 with the following changes:

- script for Torpedoes updated to use "Photon 6" (TNG Torpedoes) for BC RE v1.2

- Ship Plugin added to load the ship under "Federation Ships"

- sfx updated to use "Galaxy Phaser" sfx for compatibility with BC RE v1.2

- NanoFX Blinkers removed for Remastered for compatibility with RE v1.2

No other changes were effected to the model, textures and scripts on this update.

Launched: 2382

The Abante class was designed in the late 2370's during Starfleet's push to rebuild ships after the Dominion War.  
Commissioned in 2382, the USS Abante would be the first ship of her kind to replace a great many lost Miranda, 
New Orleans, Centaur, and Cheyenne Class starships.  Designed as a workhorse ship, the Abante was well armed for her size, 
deriving many of its defensive systems from it's bigger sister Sun Tzu Class.  However, the Abante was not intended to be 
a first strike combat ship, and as such it was not fitted with quantum torpedoes or ablative armor.  However, the latest
in high yield photon torpedos were equipped.

Starfleet planned to manufacture a great many Abante Class starships, and in 2384 the class went into full production with 
an initial order placement of 73 starships to be constructed at the Utopia Planitia, Antares, and Vulcan shipyards.
