Borg Cube Hardpoint v0.1 (Beta) Credits Original Hardpoint by: Darkdrone, SSMike, Laurelin, and Ice Hardpoint Updated by: Resistance Is Futile SFX Files by: ST Armada, Laurelin, Dreamyards and Resistance Is Futile Projectiles by: Dreamyards and Resistance Is Futile Special Thanks to: MrJohn, Executioner_de, DarkMatrix, and Cpt2Extreme for their devotion in helping to bring the Borg to Life. Dasher for his development of foundation. To all modders, no matter how big or small, you all keep BC alive. Personal Note I tried to make this Hardpoint as true to life of how I remember the Borg. As you can see, this is just a beta version of the file. I need input from the community so I know what direction to take next. I can modify this hardpoint to match any Borg Cube. I chose this one for the beta. Maybe I can get someone who know more about making projectiles than I do as they all look rather plain. But beware of the blue projectile. <---Hint. I wish I had the time to learn how to do more than just hardpoint a file, but work and my squad operations on another game takes almost all of my time. I should have had this out long before so Im sorry for those you who waited this long. If I forgot to mention anyone in the credits above, please don't get mad at me. This is my first time submitting anything and Im trying my best to get it rigth. I challenge anyone to follow my recommedations below, but conduct your battles just as I conduct mine, looking on through the viewscreen for the entire battle. It takes a real captain to do just that. Enjoy... Requirements This Borg Cube Hardpoint ONLY replaces the Normal Cube hardpoint file found in The Cube Pack (orginially released by: Ice and Darkdrone) found here: http://www.bcfiles.com/file.info?ID=3960 Recommended Files QuickBattle Replacement v2.2 Unless you want this ship to attack you, and only you, then I highly recommend this file. After installation, create your own quickbattle, but set the Cube as a Starbase. It will not move, but it will attack you and your fleet at the same time. A Cannon Fleet I also highly recommend having this type of fleet. 12 cannon ships should be enough. If your using stock ships, then you'll need about twice as many, or at least 24 stock ships. I have defeated the Cube with 12 ships, 4 of which were stock, so I know its possible. Installation FIRST AND FOREMOST, BACKUP YOU SCRIPTS FOLDER LOCATED IN YOUR BC ROOT FOLDER! (NOVICE USERS ONLY) 1. Unzip this file into its own folder. Take you time to view the files in the folder before continuing, as the files included will replace any file with the same name and location. i.e.: "sfx/Weapons/DYfutile.wav", "DYfutile" will replace your previous "DYfutile" located in that same folder of your BC root folder if you have one there. Any file that you do not want replaced, you must create a backup of that file for later usage. NOTE: THE ACTUAL HARDPOINT FILE IS CASE SENSITIVE! MAKE SURE THAT THE ORIGINAL HARDPOINT FILE BEING REPLACED MATCHES THE FILENAME EXACTLY HOW IT IS SPELLED. IF THEY ARE NOT SPELLED THE SAME, THEN RENAME THE REPLACING FILE TO MATCH THE ORIGINAL FILE. 2. Copy and Paste the data, scripts, and sfx folders into your BC root folder. When asked to replace files, click yes to all. Restart game and enjoy.
