This is a TMP-Era Klingon-Based Total conversion of Bridge Commander. The purpose is to give the game a whole new feel. All stock ships have been removed, and 35 new ships have taken their place. These new ships include models from some of the top modelers. Also, there are new script modifications that add new experiences to the game. What this mod includes: All new ships for the Klingon Empire. There are 11 Klingon ships in this mod, many of which have never been in BC before! These are high-quality models from some big-name modders like Tu11s, WickedZombie, and Atraharsis! All new ships for the Romulan Empire. There are 12 new Romulan ships included in this mod Again, these are high-quality mods from the same modders I mentioned. All new ships for the Federation. There are 5 new Federation ships included in this mod. Again, these are high-quality mods from the same modders I mentioned. Total conversion of all crewmembers. Five distinct Klingon faces. A few new features. An Improved In-System Warp, and a High-Energy Turn feature.

Total Klingon voice conversion. Using voices from SFC3 and A2, all voices for the crew have been replaced by Klingon voices. All male, since there are very few female sounds. Besides, according to Trouble with Tribbles, females aren't common on Klingon ships.

All new HP balancing system. I tried to recapture some of the tactics from KA. Slower ships, slower turns, heavy weapons with poor arcs. This means that a good captain is required to think in advance in order to be successful. It will test your tactical skills in battle. Fully Multiplayer compatible. Thanks to some help, and a lot of trial and error, I have been able to make this mod playable online. All of the ships are playable, and there is a new type of scenario; Klingon vs. Romulan. I play as “IKV vInItlh”, I hope that we meet in battle someday…

STORYLINE:
	
	It is fifteen years after the explosion of our moon Praxis (ST:VI). We have built ourselves up to a point of strength once again. Our fleets are again flying the stars, and our Warriors are fighting our enemies. It is a time of glory and honor for the Empire. After making a treaty with the Federation, we have turned our attention to another of our long-time enemies; the Romulan Empire. The Romulans have been making more and more raids into Klingon territory. They are obviously trying to undermine Klingon authority in the quadrant. The Chancellor will not stand for this! The honored Klingon Defense Force has been assigned to stop the Romulans. The Romulans are responding by becoming more violent in their raids and more daring in their tactics. The mission of the Defense Force is to deliver a message to the Romulans: Stay out of our space!

NOTE: On most of the models, I have reduced the size of some textures, to keep the download size of this mod relatively low. I had permission to do so, but I want to make sure that it is known that I have done so. It is the only thing I have changed on any of the models.

ANOTHER NOTE: I want to give a thousand “Thank you”s to all these people for letting me use their models. These models are awesome looking, and really add a lot to the mod.

I hope I got all those credits right. If you know of some incorrect credit, please let me know.

Laurelin:
She gave me a TON of ships she had from P81 and Atra. Without her, this mod would be of a far lesser quality. A special “Qapla jupwI!”  should go out to Laurelin from all the Klingon fans that will play this mod. Though she hails from the Romulan Empire, Laurelin is an honorable friend.

Defiant:
I used some of his scripts as a basis for my scripts. He has graciously allowed me to modify his code and include these scripts in my mod. He also showed me how to get the Ship Icons working in Multiplayer. So next time you are fighting a ship in Multiplayer, give a “Thanks!” to Defiant. Also, I have included his Marines 6.0 mod, because I LOVE it!

Starforce2:
Again, without Starforce2, the ships in this mod would not have looked so good. He supplied me with many ships, plus some charts to help with scaling. Thanks man! 
Matsch-Klon:
I have to thank my friend Matsch-Klon for getting me interested again in this mod. He is a Klingon expert, and it was his enthusiasm for the Klingon language that helped to put this mod in my mind.

Admiral Firedrake, NeoKeade(Told you you’d be in the readme. J), nebula and everyone else that expressed interest in this mod. I really appreciate the positive feedback you all gave me! Also, Zambie Zan needs recognition. He gave me the stats for the Lexington.

An awesome group of testers. They pointed out things I would have never seen, and Mikesla was a maniacal tester of the balance system. These three fine warriors are responsible for bringing the overall quality of this mod up several notches. There may still be a few bugs in this mod, but it cannot be said that it is because of the Beta-testers. These guys were an awesome resource.


Installation Instructions:

Simply install Bridge Commander and install the 1.1 patch. Then unzip the contents of the “KDFMod.zip” file into your Bridge Commander folder, and overwrite. That’s it! If you want to play online, DO NOT EVER MODIFY ANYTHING in your Bridge Commander installation. 

If you want to use extra mods with my KDF mod, I recommend installing BC twice. Use one for adding other mods to, and the other for online play.


Other Information:

There is an MS Word file “Ships.rtf” in your Main BC folder now. It gives you an overview of each ship, and the main weapons of each race. To be a great warrior, you are going to need to be familiar with the abilities of each ship. Also, the in-game ship TGL descriptions are geared toward giving you an idea of the different tactics that should be used against each ship, and describing some of the peculiarities of each ship. Especially if you are going to battle online, you should be very familiar with each ship.
