Rebel Alliance Starfighter Pack

Published by Desert Storm Sandtrooper

The Rebel Alliance's mixture of starfighters was a very intresting mix-and-match over the years following the Battle Of Yavin IV, so much that the lethal combination eventually defeated the Empire to it's knees, with smart tactics, and some assistance from the heros (we all know, now don't we?), the Rebellion emerged from underdogs into the New Republic following the Battle of Endor.

Some lasers will fire at the wrong place, some of these issues are irresolvable.
Tested on BC 1.1 install.
In this pack, I included the following:

Incom/Subpro Z-95 Headhunter
11.8 M

The Predecessor to the X-Wing & the ARC-170, the Z-95 was ancient compaired to the X-Wing, due to the age of the design. Very popular due to being extremely modular with parts, thus many variants were seen throughout the Galaxy.

Incom T-65 A2 X-Wing
12.5 M

"The Incom T-65 X-wing is the fighter that killed the Death Star. An almost perfect balance of speed, maneuverability, and defensive shielding make it the fighter of choice for Rogue Squadron" - General Carlist Rieekan

The most famous starfighter in existance, the T-65 X-Wing Space Superiority Starfighter is a excellent choice for beginners in the Rebel Alliance, and it's popularity rose due to it's flight system being similar to the T-16 Skyhopper ("Beggar's Canyon", does that sound familiar?).

Koensayr BTL-A4 Y-Wing
16 M

A well "tested against time" design, the Y-Wing predates the TIE/LN and X-Wing by a few years. It's role in the Alliance is a Bomber/Assault Starfighter, with it's 8 Proton Torps, and the Ion cannon, the fighter suits the roles very well.

Dodonna/Blissex RZ-1 A-Wing
9.6 M

The fastest starfighter in existance (at level /w the TIE/In), the A-Wing is the Alliance's Interceptor. Extremely hard to pilot, even a little adjustment to the aft wings would send this fighter into multiple barrel rolls. Nonetheless, the A-Wing serves it's role wel.

Hoersch-Kessel Drive, Inc. T-Wing
12.2 M

Designed to replace the A-Wing, the fighter that was never materialized, and the T-Wing was very similar to the Z-95 in terms of weapons and hull & shielding strength. Manuverability was extremely dissapointing to be combined with the speed nearly matching the TIE Interceptor. The Rebels ditched this fighter after a short time, but never knew that it would be a great product for the independant parties in the Galaxy.

Slayn & Korpil B-Wing
16.9 M (in height)

The B-Wing is the Heavy Assault Fighter for the Alliance, being one of the most largest starfighter frames avalible, the B-Wing is a unusual craft in appearance. Mostly used for capital ship combat, the B-Wing was heavily armed to fulfill this role. (With 12 torpedos and 2 ion cannons, and 3 lasers).

FreiTek E-Wing
11.2 M

The New Republic's Escort fighter, the E-Wing is as fast compaired to the TIE Interceptor. With cutting edge technology, the E-Wing is more armored than the X-Wing. With it's big payload (16 Torps!), and 3 lasers, the E-Wing is suited for the Escort role.

Q: Are there extra goodies included??
A: Yes, 2 models. The B-Wing and the X-Wing models /w S-Foils/Wings down.
Try and make an MVAM plugin for those, since it didn't work for me. (kept making the ship dissapear & dead)
The X-Wing has the closed hardpoint made already (with lasers disabled & Hyperdrive ready).

Flight Colors are also included (Yellow, Green, Blue, Red is the Default), the numbers on the texture filename corespond to the texture number on the model in it's model directory (you have to find the texture numbers for the A-Wing though...).

Q: Why are there 2 torp types in (certain ships)?
A: In the Stargate Pack (Dave975 & Dkealt), there was blank torps to make the
Death Gliders attack to make the AI think there are torps when there isn't. This also makes the AI attack and pursue. Or else when the AI runs out of torp ammo, they fly like idiots not attacking, hence the requirement of blanks if you want pursuing AI. Some blanks are also seen in my TIE Series pack. One downside to this is the flash, since it indicates a blank torp has been added to the hardpoint for better dogfighting.

You know all this stuff, LucasArts/LucasFilms owns the Star Wars parts. CBS owns Star Trek.
No distrubuting all these files onto a CD if it were to be SOLD. (eBay INCLUDED IN THIS). NO Claiming-this-as-yours crap. Textures are NOT to be distrubutied!
