This mod contains the Relevant Class Escort type prototype starship, updated for BC Remastered v1.2!


This mod has been updated per the notes below:


Updated 2023-08-17 by MSR1701 with the following changes:

- Updated Projectile Script for compatibility with REv1.2

- used SFX script "Galaxy Phasers" for compatibility with RE v1.2

- Removed Ablative Armor scripting to work in RE v1.2

- Plugin created to load ship under "Federation Ships"

No other changes were effected to the model, textures and scripts on this update.

To Install:

Copy the folders for the version you wish to install (KM or Remastered Version) into the root install folder of your game install (the folders "Data," "Scripts," and/or "SFX" (the latter may not always be in a given mod). Then run the game, and your ships should load in QuickBattle!

Description of the Mod File
---------------------------
The forward shields are just below that of a soverigns in both power and recharge rate. this plays towards the ships strength as an attack run based starship. the other shields are good, but nothing on a soverigns.

The ship carries 200 q torps, and 100 photon torps. with two fore and aft launchers. the fore have a recharge rate of 30, the aft 50. once again this reflects the ships intended style of play.

the pulse phasres are directly lifted off a defiant class ship, so each has a meager damage factor of 15. but there's 8 cannons.... firing 7-10 times in a sustained burst. do the math.
the phaser arrays are nothing spectauclar.
but i textured strips that corve from top to aft, and bottom to aft, and placed the emission points carefully.

a 2 degree tip above or below horizontal relative to an opponent will allow 2 of the 4 aft beams to cycle.

so hold down the fire, and nose up and down to cycle between the different banks. theyre not the strongest, but your never without one at full charge. very handy in melee when someone id on your tail.

the hull is average, 10 k to the soverigns 14k . the design team focused on increasing the strength to weight ratio of the hull, rather than loading her down with armour. this was accomplished by setting light weight trinnium into a duranium matrix. The danger here was the low melting point of trinnium, but this was overcome by layering the hull and sub structure with sillicate crystals, which as with all ceramics , absorb and release heat in a controlled manner. sparing the otherwise delicate trinnium.

as for weaknesses, by design the ships weapons systems are densely clustered. take out those pulse phasers and shes a sitting tribble.
the torpedo launchers are also distressingly close to each other. targeting one will likley splash damage the other.

overall, after playing with her a lot, and refining the phasers etc, shes a mean ass ship, and the best figth i got was a valdore, simply because its a manuverable ship too with good weapons. eol vorchas were toasted, but to be fairer, i let the cpu battle while i watched. she whooped a vorcha again, but met a solid fight in a soverign, her aft shields took the full brunt of a couple of torpedo volleys, and a couple minutes later, she was toast.

Installation:

Befor installation you need defiant sounds this mod does not come with them.

Unzip the files into a temp directory on your hard disk, open up the contents of the newly unzipped folder "Relevant" copy the files inside that folder to your root Star Trek Bridge Commander directory.  When asked to overwrite select OK.
